THATS A WRAP! 🫶🏻🌮🍺 To everyone who came out this past week to raise a glass with us, THANK YOU. You showed up with stories, laughter, and so much love, and we felt every bit of it.

Running this bar for the last two decades has been one hell of a ride. It’s been more than a place to grab a drink, it’s been a gathering place, a home, and a piece of our hearts.

To our rockstar staff (past and present), THANK YOU for keeping the lights on, the drinks flowing, and the best vibe. And to the family and friends who showed up in the final hours to help us shut it down, we’ll never forget your support.

Cheers to the end of an era, and to all the good times that made it unforgettable.

We've been getting a lot of questions and wanted to share a little more about why we've made the decision to close Guadalahonkys and Donkey Tails and sell the land and building.
After nearly four decades, Alan is ready to retire and as a family, our priorities have shifted. Life has a way of reminding you what truly matters, and this felt like the right time to slow down and focus on what's most important.
All of our children lan, Ryan, Kaitlan, Meg, and Camryn, have held a variety of very important roles in keeping Guads and DTC going over the years, or even creating, as lan did with Donkey Tails Cantina. 🫶🏻
It's truly been a family effort, and we couldn't have done it without their support, but the restaurant/bar businesses are demanding, and after so many years, it's time for us to take a step back.
We thank you for supporting us in the good times and the bad, laughing with us and choosing us as a place to celebrate.
You've been a part of our story, and we'll carry that with us forever.

A Bittersweet Goodbye After 21 Years
It’s with full hearts and deep gratitude that we announce Donkey Tails, Draper’s first bar, will be closing on July 26th.
Since opening in 2003, we’ve had the absolute privilege of serving this community. What started as a bold idea became a place filled with laughter, friendships, unforgettable nights, and memories we’ll carry with us forever.
To the city of Draper: thank you for embracing us. To every loyal customer who pulled up a chair, danced our amazing live music, or thought of us as a place to celebrate, you’re the reason this place meant so much.
And to our incredible employees, past and present, you’ve been the heart and soul of Donkey Tails. Thank you for your hard work, your loyalty, and for creating the experience that kept people coming back again and again.
Donkey Tails has always been more than a bar, it’s been part of Draper’s story, and we’re honored to have been a chapter in yours.
Come by, share a memory, and raise one last glass with us.

If you’ve been to Donkey Tails in the past couple of years, there’s a good chance you’ve met Nubs—or at least heard one of his famously off-color jokes. 🫣🫣 Like him or not, Nubs is a solid bartender who’s always tried to take care of his customers. Now it’s our turn to show up for him. What happened to Nubs isn’t something anyone deserves, and he could really use our support right now. Let’s rally around him and help however we can!!
