We’re not in this for the money (ask Sean who does our books, haha). But for the love of coffee, the experiences it amplifies, and the gathering it builds.

This is what community looks like.

One of our regulars had an idea, she noticed that when we brew two cups in the carafe, the glass gets hot enough to make you flinch. She offered to knit a cozy for it. We said yes immediately. She showed up with this, buttons and all. It fits perfectly, it looks beautiful, and now nobody burns their hands on a Saturday morning.

That is the kind of thing that happens when people feel like a space belongs to them. Someone sees a need, has a skill, and raises their hand. And the whole place gets a little better because of it.

This is Nomad. This is Detroit. This is coffee the way it is supposed to be, made better by the people who drink it.

Come visit us at Hunt Street Station in the Eastern Market neighborhood of Detroit. We are serving lattes for the first time with our own syrups.

We founded NOMAD Detroit Coffee in 2018 rooted in on our shared love and curiosity of coffee and the journey it takes from earth to cup.

Blending together craft and data we artistically roast in small batches ensuring a perfect brewed cup aimed to transport you to the corner of the world from which it originates.

Coffee in its variety of shapes, sizes, density, aroma, and flavor is a perfect representation of the diversity of the world we call home. To that end, we hope and encourage you to enjoy this coffee in whichever way you choose, pour over, drip, french press, espresso... cream, sugar, or black. However you like it is exactly the way we like it.

There’s something about when you first open a bag of coffee that just feels right. The smell. The beauty of the beans. And of course the bloom when making a cup of pour over. We’re proud of our new bag design and hope you enjoy it too. Come see us at the Royal Oak Farmers Market this summer!
