The Emerald Coast Cobia Triple Crown winning boat will be determined by the total points accumulated in each sanctioned tournament’s final standings, as well as any bonus points earned throughout the series.
2. 2017 Sanctioned Tournaments:
a. Outcast Cobia Invitational – March 30-April 2, 2017
b. Harbor Docks Crab Cruncher Classic – April 6-9, 2017
c. Boshamp’s Flathead Classic – April 19-23, 2017
3. Individual tournaments will be governed by their own rules.
4. Scoring:
a. 50 points will be awarded to each boat for entering a sanctioned tournament. (150 maximum points for the season)
b. One point per pound will awarded for each boat’s largest cobia weighed in each sanctioned tournament. For scoring purposes, weight will be rounded down to the nearest whole pound. (example: a 71.6 pound cobia will be awarded 71 points)
c. 150 points will be awarded for a 1st place finish in a sanctioned tournament, 100 points will be awarded for a 2nd place finish, and 75 points will be awarded for a 3rd place finish.
5. In the event of a tie, the boat that weighed the single largest cobia during the series (regardless of tournament) will be declared the winner.
6. Disputes:
a. In the event that the results of a sanctioned tournament are disputed, no points will be awarded to the boat(s) in the disputed position for the particular tournament until the dispute is resolved. If the dispute is not resolved by the conclusion of the series, there will be zero points awarded to any and all boats involved total score.
7. Awards:
a. The Emerald Coast Cobia Triple Crown champion will be announced at the conclusion of Boshamp’s Flathead Classic on April 23, 2017.
