AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR DECEMBER 12th-14th SANTA TROLLEY.
This weekend will be very cold. Luckily we don't have many bookings - I didn't advertise it like I normally do (at the end you will know why), so there will only be your trolley car at the farm for your hour.
This morning, I blocked the rest so that you could park close to the barn. Do not park in the parking lot, park in what is normally the handicap spots (next to the red tractor, near the Big Barn) - if you have a person in your group that has trouble walking or very young babies be kind and save the closest spots for them. However, due to the lack of availability, if you need to change your day or time, it might be a little harder - please let me know if you need help. Keep in mind next weekend could be worse and there probably won't be up close parking next weekend.
But don't worry, the weather won't affect as much as you think - all the Christmas characters have already been moved into the barns and all barns will have a heat source (the big barn will have several different types of heaters), but still dress warm. The Trolley Ride will be chilly so bring blankets or anything that will help you to stay cozy. Please remember that it is colder at Warstler Farm then anywhere else in this area. I think Santa brings the North Pole weather with him to Warstler Farm.
As I said previously, your trolley car will be the only trolley car at the farm, so there will be no one at the farm to impress - Dress for warmth. Remember Santa sees you while you are sleeping so he has already seen you at your worst - dress warm! If you are worried about cute Santa pictures you will have time to remove your outside clothes and put them back on. You are the only ones at the farm - you can spent the whole time with Santa if you want. The Milk House (where Santa is) is heated (like a house) and has a fire place.
To make things worse for this weekend, my doctor says I have Vocal Fatigue - I am on Vocal Rest, so this will be an interesting weekend. Basically I am currently like the Little Mermaid right now - and have no voice at all.
Now for the really bad news:
According to my doctors (and my mom and several others), I am getting older and my body cannot handle working day and night in the cold anymore. So as of now it looks like this might be the last Santa Trolley. For our long time or repeat customers (and their people), don't worry we will do our best to figure something out for you.
Santa Trolley was not in our original plan. As you may know, Santa Trolley at Warstler Farm was invented at the start of covid, as a safe way to let the kids see Santa without a mall and without plexiglass (thanks to many of your elementary students in Oxford (at that time) who pointed out the need).
It was also created for kids who had trouble waiting in line and standing still to see Santa (I had one of those kids so I completely understand the struggle). I made different things to see and do and timed it all out so if there was ever a wait, it would be a short one. Now many places around here do events simular to Santa Trolley (although the original is always best 🙂).
We may seem big, but we are a small, mostly one person (and Santa) operation. And unfortunately that one person has to slow down, for the good of my health. I don't know what next year will be like, maybe after all these years Santa Trolley will just end (which makes me very sad), or maybe I will come up with a completely new Santa Trolley (that doesn't get me in trouble with my doctors).
Regardless, we still have the rest of this year's Santa Trolley - so let's make it the best year possible! Thank you for your business and I'll see you soon.
