The Shift

2023 was the year I knew we had to level up.

This was the year I officially handed off event planning to who would become our Lead Planner, Ashlyn. While she stepped further into planning and client experience, I slowly shifted my focus toward BOH operations, systems, hiring, and building the actual foundation of the company.

Up until then, so much of Professional Partiers depended on me.
My name.
My presence.
My direct involvement.

And honestly… I knew that wasn’t sustainable.

I didn’t want every review to mention only me anymore.
I wanted to see a shift.
I wanted clients to trust the team — not just me.

So I started delegating more.
Building systems.
Writing SOPs.
Creating structure.
Training intentionally.

I wanted every bartender, planner, and team member to feel empowered and fully set up for success. I wanted us to provide the same level of service whether I was physically there or not.

Because to me, a real company isn’t built around one person.
It’s built around a team that can deliver consistently together.

2023 was also the year I went all in on networking and industry involvement. I served on two boards, built relationships in the industry, and really started figuring out what I wanted our brand identity to be.

Not just bartending.
Not just drinks.
An experience.

I wanted Professional Partiers to feel intentional, elevated, creative, welcoming, and community driven.

It was also the year sustainability became important to me. I started learning about growing our own produce, supporting local farms, composting our waste, and finding environmentally friendlier products for the private event world.

But behind the scenes… financially, things were tight.

I knew if I truly wanted to grow this company, I needed more capital. More gear. More inventory. More stability.

At the same time, our bartenders were asking for more shifts, shifts I was working.

So while building the company during the week…
I started working at a local bar again to make ends meet.

And by the end of 2023, I decided the only way to truly grow the company…

Janie + Jake’s wedding day was nothing short of iconic ✨

With every detail meticulously planned and executed by the one and only 🌸 you already know this one had it all.

Janie and Jake were beyond lovely — the kind of couple you can feel the love from the second you walk into the room. Every detail felt intentional, thoughtful, and full of meaning.

And fun fact: even though this wedding was just in March, we’re already lined up to work another event with Janie in two weeks for a corporate event of hers. 🥹 We always feel so honored when couples stay connected after the big day and invite us into their next chapters — whether it’s a housewarming, birthday party, work event, or whatever life brings next.

The whole day was full of spring pastels — pinks, blues, yellows — colorful, fun, and so perfectly them. 🌸💛🩵

Our cocktail lineup kept it classic with:
🍋 Classic Ranch Waters
🌶️ Spicy Ranch Waters
🥃 Old Fashioneds

And we executed this drink menu on a DIY scope, meaning the couple provided all mixers and garnishes and we brought everything needed gear-wise to serve and craft them with love.

And can we talk about that BAR 😍 .events always making our job easier with all the space for activities! It’s always easier to do our job when the bar is spacious and equipped with shelving thoughtfully placed! And these large 360 and half moon bars do just that! 😏

📙 The REAL story on how it’s going: PART 1
The Year I Almost Quit

2022 was the year I was about to break.

The business was growing fast, but behind the scenes… I was drowning. Events every weekend. Admin every weekday. No sleep. Constant calls, planning, staffing, training, problem solving. I was doing everything.

I remember telling Matt:
“If I can’t find someone to help me build this thing by the end of the year… I think I’m done.”

Not because I didn’t love it.
Because I physically and mentally couldn’t keep carrying it alone.

So I put out an application for an Admin Assistant + Planner in Training — honestly just hoping the right person would somehow find it.

A few applications came in. Then one name popped up that I recognized immediately.

She had applied to bartend the year before. We had never even met, but for some reason I had always remembered her application.

I opened it and instantly thought:
“This is the person.”

We scheduled a Zoom interview, and within minutes I knew. I hired her on the spot.

Her first official shift was our 4th Annual Swing Your Wood Golf Tournament — and also the first time we met in person. 😂

She met me at my absolute breaking point… and instead of running from the chaos, she jumped right in.

At first she took little things off my plate. Then bigger things. Then entire projects.

Every single time I handed her something, she handled it. And then asked:
“What else do you need?”

But 2022 wasn’t just the year I found who would soon become my right hand. It was also the year our team started feeling like a real team.

Some of the bartenders who joined us that year are still with us today. So many relationships were built that year that still feel like family now.

We started leveling up in the beverage catering world. Bigger events. Better systems. More creativity. More confidence. And honestly… some really fun events started landing on our calendar. 💃🏼🍸

I think we all knew then this was real, and we were all down to build it - together. 🤍

For all booked couples, we offer one complimentary tasting experience — your choice which one works best and when.



So… how do you actually pick your wedding cocktails?

We start by narrowing down a few options during bar planning — based on spirits you love, flavor profiles, season, or even your color palette.
(Have ideas already? Perfect. No idea at all? Also perfect.)

Then comes the fun part — the tasting.

We host 4 complimentary tastings each year, and you can choose the experience that fits you best:

Full Pickup (at TFFV)
Two servings of each cocktail packaged to enjoy at home — garnishes included.
Perfect for a cozy date night in.

Half + Half (at TFFV)
One serving tasted onsite + one boxed to-go.
Great if only one of you can attend or want to keep the date night going after.

Full Seated Experience (at TFFV)
Both servings made fresh during the tasting.
Ideal if parents or friends are joining and want to try everything too.

Scheduled Pickup (The Colony Home Base)
Grab your tasting the week of — or schedule for a date that works best for you.



But what’s the point of a tasting?

Besides being a really fun date day…
this is where your cocktails become yours.

Too sweet? We adjust it.
Not enough citrus? Fixed.
Hate the garnish? Gone.
Want more aromatics? Done.

You get to see, smell, and taste everything ahead of time — so nothing is a surprise on your wedding day.

We also use this time to meet in person, answer planning questions, and make sure your bar experience is completely dialed in.
