However, I’ve held numerous different professional positions with in that time frame. I always seem to come back to my true passion for wood working. I aways felt like such a hypocrite though when I worked on a job site and saw plenty of perfectly good lumber being sent to the dump. That’s one of the reasons that led me to start my new business, Liam’s Custom Toybox. Another reason is that my Grea

t-Grandfather, Aldard Ernest Benjamin was a Master Carpenter, which is where I got my skills from. I’d like my own son, Liam, whom the company is named after, to carry on the craft of the trade. The last reason was, when my wife said she was going to buy a toybox for Liam for Christmas, I adamantly refused to let her do so, and said that I’d build him one. Well, 3 months later, I had created my finest work to date, and was extremely proud of it. So I figured, why not be able to do the same thing for other people and their children? The toyboxes I make will last for many long years, with the hopes that your children will be able to pass their custom-made toybox down to their own children. One of the key components of any of my pieces is, the use of reclaimed, reused and recycled lumber. After I pull all the nails or screws out, cut, plane, and sand it down, the wood looks as if it just came from the mill. It has character, and when stained or left natural, it looks incredibly pretty! If there are any man-made holes, larger than a nail hole, I plug them. You’ll be very satisfied with the finished look of any piece I create, by using this technique. Additionally, I use natural dyes in any piece that you might choose to have a name or a drawing routered in. Some natural dyes include: blueberry, strawberry, red wine, grape juice, etc. If you think of a good dye, let me know, and I can incorporate it into your piece. The whole point is to try and stay as environmentally conscious as possible. By relaxing in your own enviromentally friendly, custom made, Adirondack Chair, you will have helped to preserve the very trees that provide us with oxygen and filter out the many harmful carcinogens in the air.

So my mother just heard on the news that they are going to run out of "fresh" water, fighting these wildfires in CA. Why can't they tap into the ocean to at least fight the neighborhood fires in LA? While damaging to the eco system of the forest fires is understandably, well, damaging, they should weigh their options.
