Had my first From Scratch Friday Workshop of the season today with SUCH a delightful group!

It was my Butters & Baguettes class, and man, I just love this workshop - I mean what could be better than a whole workshop about bread & butter?!??

This crispy baguette deserved a perfect butter - let me introduce you to my Roasted Tomato Butter. 🍅 🍅 🍅

It’s just so so good. Can’t wait to share with you the rest of the 🧈 we made today!

So delighted to host garden club this weekend! Usually, I’m running around prepping, plating & serving during Rustic Table events, so it was such a treat to have a seat at my own table & enjoy the gals. It’s a nice time, I must say. 🤣🤣

For the longest time, I’ve struggled with this long garden bed. In the spring, I moved out all the strawberries and planted dahlias against the fence line, but felt the lower half of the bed needed a little something else. After throwing 837262 bags of mulch on this bed to hide all the Bermuda grass from my beloved garden club, I happened to look over and see this neglected wagon.

We’ve loved this wagon. It’s grown with our family. We would walk our neighborhood in Cincinnati with this wagon loaded down with my boys in their sweet little Halloween costumes every year & take my growing toddlers on walks to the whippy dip on the corner on summer evenings…so this wagon is for SURE staying here at the Hollow forever, but it needed a new purpose.

Enter, my new cut flower wagon! I gave her a little paint, strolled right on over to a local thrift store for some glass vases (and found this stunning green one to hold my snips!) & found the perfect pitcher wash stand set to complete it! And, I knew I would need a little cover on the bottom, so my gal over at Camellia Chocolates 🍫🏭✨ saved the day with her jute cocoa beans bags (which incidentally are the perfect green!). I’ve got my twine, my extra pots, my vases, my snips & all the things I need to cut flowers for bouquets. I threw on some solar fairy lights, and now she’s a perfect little corner in this garden.

Everything should get a second life in the garden. 🪴

Today’s the day - she all burnt to a crisp with this dry weather, but she’s got a fresh layer of mulch to cover the sins of the summer & the most important thing is that the porch punch will be grand. 🤣

I lovedddddd this menu when I hosted it in the spring, & I know it’s going to be more magical in the barn this fall. This is a SUNDAY Tea Party event, which means that you get home in enough time to be ready for the week ahead, after you have a splendid time at The Rustic Table, of course!
