Last summer my garden club visited the best local lavender farm - Whispering Pines Lavender Farm & she had a few plants for sale. And this summer, I harvested the first wee bundle of lavender grown here at McKibbon Hollow!!

She’s a beauty & I wish you could smell this. Can’t wait to plant more!

Have a rising 4th - 8th grader in need of a little summer support? My eldest son is looking to tutor in math, science, and reading. He’s always been a bit of an entrepreneur - if you’ve been with me long enough, you might remember the knitted hats he sold when he was 8. And, so, he’s now looking to build a tutoring business this summer.

A little about him: He is a rising 9th grader & has been on the Principal’s List for several years. In May, he won awards for math, science and social studies as the top boy in his grade. He plays summer softball, is on his school’s cross country team and is active in the Mt. Pleasant Squadron for Civil Air Patrol (a youth program from the US Air Force).

His availability starts next week. Here are the details:

📚: Each tutoring session will last an hour, per student.
✏️: Tutoring is held outside at our Tree Table & a snack & materials are provided.
📚: He will utilise the appropriate grade-level summer bridge books to support your needed subjects & the hour will include focused work on a single subject or a mix of subjects.
✏️: It’s $15 per hour. He has morning & afternoon availability.
📖: Tutoring will run up until school starts back in August.

To schedule a Tree Table Tutoring session, message me for next steps!

Been enjoying a slow summer of tackling weeds and home projects and eating all the berries and just enjoying the view around here.

Also, feverfew is my new favorite thing to add in my weekly bouquets for the house - it smells amazing - like chamomile but the flowers are sturdier! I bought two plants last year and this year they’ve flowered! Highly recommend.

All the goodness that came out of my Baker’s Kitchen in the month of May!

So grateful to have several full tables last month here at McKibbon Hollow. You make these little dreams come true, friends. 🩵

My first Zinnia bloom of the entire season & I didn’t even plant this one. Didn’t lovingly rake the soil, tamp down the seeds or water it during the spring drought.

It’s literally growing out of our patio blocks. In concrete. 🤣🤣🤣

Mother Nature finds a wayyyyy.

Country traffic jam. 🐄 🐮 🐄 🐮 ✨ never fear, this was back in May & they were all secured back up in pasture!✨

You know those aspirational gardens? The ones that are just so lovely you feel like it’s a big ol’ hug & a cup of warm tea?! I got the great chance to tour one of those yesterday, and guys?! It was DREAMY. Beautiful. Stunning. Just so so lovely. All my favorite adjectives.

has built something intentionally, and it shows with every turn of the corner. It’s hand crafted beauty, and if you ever get a chance to go - you MUST.

Huge thank you to the loveliest (and most knowledgeable) tour guide - who gave us a dreamy tour during these Tennessee rains. It was so wonderful. And, big thanks to our fearless leader, for organizing this adventure.

Thank you for opening up your home & garden space to us, - I treasured my time there.

You KNOW we take our summer breaks so very seriously over here at McKibbon Hollow - and the kick off to summer was no exception (more on that, tomorrow!). But as our little homestead grows, it takes a little village to make it all happen & care for our furry & feathered friends while we are away.

Our sweet pup has a home away from home where he runs with a pack, and loves it (y’all are the best for taking him!), & our flock was watched over by our sweet neighbors!

But, our bunnies get to go back to their birthplace & visit with their mom & dad. 🤣 I am grateful that Little Hoppers Co. offers bunny boarding! She takes such good care of my little bunnies - sending photos regularly and updates on how it’s all going.

She just finished a new bunny “hotel” & it is adorable.

If you want to bring bunnies to your homestead, or are looking for GREAT care of your 🐰 while you are away, check out Little Hoppers Co! They are THE BEST.

BIG thanks to our village for making it possible to adventure during the summer! 🐓 🐕 🐰
