Peace Pub Theology

Peace Pub Theology A place for honest, open discussion over a beverage, where questions are encouraged, differences expected yet we all leave friends.

Pub Theology is open to anyone who enjoys gathering with people for fun and friendship while discussing our experience of how God is at work in the world around us. The only requirement is a willingness to listen and be open to other thoughts and ideas while being free to share your own. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at The Rusty Bucket Gahanna..

Dolly Parton: Love Everybody. Is It That Simple?

Dolly Parton has built a remarkable legacy around kindness, generosity, and a simple philosophy: “love everybody.” It sounds a lot like Jesus—but is it really that simple? What does love look like when people disagree, when someone is causing harm, or when injustice calls us to take a stand? For Pub Theology this month, Pastor Tony helps us explore Dolly’s life and legacy and wrestle with what it really means to love our neighbors, love our enemies, and love everybody.
Join us October 6 at 7pm at the Gahanna Rusty Bucket for good food, good drinks, and good conversation!

🎉 Pub Theology – August 4 | 7:00 PM
📍 The Rusty Bucket – Gahanna

(And yes… many folks come early for food, drinks, and good conversation 🍔🍻)

This month, we’re excited to welcome Matthew Hazzard, Program Director and Mission Developer of Paraclete Post.

Topic: Christian Art—What Is It Really Saying?
The art we display in our churches is never neutral. It tells stories. It shapes belief. It forms how we see God, ourselves, and others.

But here’s the question:
👉 What messages is our church art actually communicating?
👉 And are those messages what we intend to say?

Matthew will guide us through a thoughtful (and likely surprising) conversation about the meaning, impact, and theology behind the images we often take for granted.

🍺 PUB THEOLOGY — Tuesday, July 7 | 7pm | The Rusty Bucket, Gahanna

America just turned 250. And we're asking the questions that didn't make it into the birthday speech:

Were the Founding Fathers actually Christian? What did Jefferson do to his Bible? What does the 1796 Treaty of Tripoli say about America's religious foundations?

We're playing TRIVIA — Faith & the Founders edition. Come test what you think you know about religion, the founders, and what it really means to be an American.

Doors (and appetites) welcome early. Good food, good drinks, good people — theology starts at 7.

✅ Free. No membership required. All questions welcome.

What exactly is a soul?

Is it the ghost inside your body, waiting to escape? Is it the whole of who you are — body, breath, and all? Is it what music has when it moves you to tears?

We've been talking about soul our whole lives. Tuesday night, we finally sit down and ask what we mean.

Join us for Pub Theology on Tuesday, May 5th at 7pm! (Though let’s be honest—many of us show up early for good conversation, food, and a drink in hand.) Rusty Bucket in Gahanna.

This month, we’re honored to welcome Laurie Jadwin, Mayor of Gahanna.

Together, we’ll explore how faith shapes leadership as Mayor Jadwin shares how her faith serves as a guide in her role leading our community. It’s a chance to hear her story, ask questions, and engage in thoughtful, real conversation about faith in public life.

Pub Theology is a space for open dialogue, curiosity, and connection—no easy answers required.

Come early, grab a seat, and be part of the conversation.
