MORTIFIED is a storytelling project where adults share the strange & embarrassing artifacts they saved from childhood. 15 years strong in Chicago!!!!

Since 2006, Mortified Chicago has had over 200 people take the stage at Lincoln Hall, Mayne Stage, the Promontory, Schubas Tavern, the Beat Kitchen, the Green Mill, and Thalia Hall to tell their own personal tales of redemption through the act of public humiliation.

For this Friday’s show , we brought in a few pals to round out our regular house band, so we could really do justice to our favorite Twin Cities music. Joining Dwight, Katie, Jeff, and Eric for one night only are Jim Snedeker on lead guitar and Nick DePrey on keys. At rehearsal last night, Katie and Nick took us to church. You ready?

Please say hello to fresh faces Ali DeGuide, Annie Share, and Kait Wilbur; returning champ Mikaela Sullivan (last seen at our May 2018 show); and a Mortified veteran from LA new to the Chicago stage, Shaun Parker. We can’t wait to share their shame next month!

Meet Tucker Millett, one of the brave souls performing in our next show!

Tucker Millett is a stand-up comedian and producer living in Chicago with his wife and two cats. His likes are craft beer and artisanal cheeses, and his dislikes are fascism and waiting in line at theme parks. You can listen to his comedy album "Dancing on the Titanic" anywhere you get comedy albums. He currently co-hosts and produces "Prime Time" every Saturday night at 9 at The Lincoln Lodge Theater. Meet Elizabeth Messick, one of the brave souls performing in our next show! Voted Most Likely to Stage-Manage Her Own Emotional Breakdown.

Elizabeth Messick is a magician, singer, and storyteller who blends vintage charm with heartfelt comedy. She has performed around the world, from cruise ships to the Magic Castle to Penn & Teller: Fool Us, where she and her fiancé fooled Penn & Teller with their duo act, The Cosmic Romantics. Originally from Los Angeles and now based in Chicago, Elizabeth finds humor and healing in revisiting her younger self through art, music, and magic.

She’s performing her magic show Magically Ever After with her fiancé, Eric, at The Den Theatre on November 9th (6 p.m. and 8 p.m.). They’ll also appear on Penn & Teller: Fool Us for their second time on November 7th on The CW.

Hayley Schueneman is a freelance writer and editor from the Chicago suburbs. Her bylines include Reductress, the Cut, Bustle, Elite Daily, Taste of Home, and Simply Recipes. When she's not revisiting old journals, she's most likely taking her rescue dog Tilly on a long walk, crushing it at bar trivia, or taking full advantage of the United Club at O'Hare.

Rachel (she/her) is a singer, actor, and music teacher originally from South Bend, IN, currently living in Chicago with her fiancé and cat! When she’s not teaching voice and piano, she can be found reading romantic fantasy novels. Some things never change!

Meet Andrew Bentley, one of the brave souls performing in our next show! Voted Most Likely To Burn You a Mixed CD.

Andrew Bentley is a writer, editor, comedian, and game-master from Virginia. From 2010-2018 he lived in Chicago, where he performed with sketch groups Rabbit Rabbit and The Nerdologues, and was a regular contributor for Paper Machete. He has performed at festivals across the US and Canada, and directed stage shows including Save Ferris! and Attend the Tale of Danny Tanner. In addition to Mortified, you can catch him performing this weekend at the Paper Machete on October 25 at 3 pm at the Green Mill.
