One very good weekend detour🪧

We’re taking the Monticello AVA on the road to Roanoke for The Virginia W**e Detour at Colony House Motor Lodge. A Friday-to-Sunday escape filled with Virginia w**e, great food, music and a little adventure in the Blue Ridge.

Hang out with w**emakers from Lightwell Survey, Blenheim, Veritas and more, plus the crew from Bloom Restaurant & W**e Bar.

Friday kicks off with a cookout and welcome party, Saturday brings more exploring before a pool party followed by a four-course w**e dinner on the lawn, and Sunday morning is for sleeping in before heading home ☕️

Monuments and museums on one side. Vines, views and stillness 20 minutes later. Welcome to Northern Virginia w**e country.

Just west of Washington D.C., Loudoun and Fauquier Counties are home to more than 110 w**eries, from history-steeped The W**ery at Bull Run (sat between two Civil War battle sites) to Stone Tower's Napa-esque mountain views, to the ultra-exclusive Crimson Lane, where reservations cap at six guests and only 4,000 cases are made a year. It's a region that's evolved fast: as one w**ery owner puts it, "ten years ago our focus was entirely on baseline quality... today the shift is phenomenal."

W**e Week was filled with epic moments for the Monticello AVA, and we’re getting to relive it through the lens of Nite4Nite Productions 🎞️

From the Monticello Cup competition to the Gold Medal Celebration at Boar’s Head Resort, Frank Morgan brought it all together as Director of Judging and emcee, celebrating the w**es and people making this region what it is.

MYTH: W**eries in the Monticello AVA are all competing with each other.

REALITY: It’s our day off, so naturally we’re having a massive crab feast together 🦀🤝

Yes, we each want to make great w**e. But one of the best things about the Monticello AVA is that we’re also genuinely rooting for the w**ery down the road.

Turns out the secret ingredient to a great w**e region might be collaboration.
