We’re beyond excited to announce the 4th Annual Queens Hawaiian May Day 🌺

Honestly… it’s wild that this is already Year 4! Whhhaaat?

What started as Kau Kau Coffee’s small mission to share a piece of Hawaiian culture with NYC through a cup of coffee, a piece of mochi, and 🌺aloha spirit has grown into a full community street festival in the heart of Astoria, Queens.

In Hawai‘i, May Day is a celebration of culture, community, and aloha through lei, food, music, hula, and togetherness. Over the years, we’ve created our own NYC version of that celebration right here in Queens bringing people together through culture, creativity, and community.

This event would not be possible without our amazing collaborators:

Aloha, friends & Happy Holidaze! ✨🌺
Hope you’re spending today exactly how you want. I’m “alone,” but got my miles in at Central Park training for the Honolulu Marathon. My one comfort plan was Chinese food from my fave spot… only to finish my run and find them CLOSED. 😭 FAKA.
But don’t worry — I made do with some Korean banchan. 🙏🏽
Life’s been busy AF, and surgery slowed things down, but we’ve still been serving… just not on the socials. It’s hard out here!

We back in these streets, and here are some KauKau dates to keep you warm through the end of the year:

• 12/06 — 31st Ave Open Streets
• 12/13 — Dave’s Le***an Bar: 4th Annual Q***r Holiday Market

For now… there’s a kimchi pancake with my name on it, and a guava mimosa I earned after 20 miles. 🥂

Happy New Year! Had to sleep through New Year’s Day to recover from New Year’s Eve. I didn’t even party that hard. Going from man to uncle status at the party is a helluva thing.

Mahalo for every interaction over the last year whether on the street or in an office. Always appreciate taking story over a cup of coffee.

Hope everyone’s new year is off to a great start. Looking forward to new tingz, more coffee, and more talking story in 2025.
