To all of our friends: As many of you know, we have made the difficult descision to close the doors at The Buttery. With growing inflation, the rising cost of goods paired with the already razor thin margins that restaurants have, our small business has become unsustainable.
Words will never be enough to express how grateful we are to Greenpoint and the quirky community that has supported us over the last 4 years. We hope you’ll come say goodbye this weekend and at our farewell party on Sunday February 2nd from 5-8.
There are too many people to thank, but we’d like to acknowledge a few:
We are forever indebted to who built our beautiful space with his own hands. The care to detail and love that you feel when you enter the Buttery is entirely because of him.
To our wonderful staff who have been with us along the way.
To the regulars who became friends and family, who treated us as a second home, thank you for loving us as much as we love you.
To all the book girlies who embraced our vision *especially * - The Buttery was magic because you believed it was.
Our trivia and book events will live on at our sister bar, , opening soon in Williamsburg on Kent Ave- keep an eye out here for news.
And to everyone else who ever dined, drank, celebrated, wrote a nice review or came back again- thank you.
Each of these things are singular and also symbiotic. It takes a village, and how lucky were we to have this one 🖤
