Join me tomorrow, Saturday May 25th, from 12-5 pm at for Local Yarn Store Day. I was incredibly honored by Shelley at the LYS when she asked me to dye kits for this beautiful shawl, designed by 🧶 The yarn is an incredible blend of merino, yak and silk. I created a new colorway for this kit, called Street Art. 🖼️Berkley, Michigan, where Have You Any Wool is located, boasts incredible murals, and I drew inspiration from that street art to pay homage. This bold colorway, paired with a natural gray, representative of the concrete jungle that is a modern city, creates a juxposition of bright color against a soothing neutral. The gorgeous sample, shown here held by Shelley, was made by - and thus it took the hands of 4 women in Metro Detroit (Toni, Gwen, Shelley, and I) to bring this special kit to life collectively. I’m so honored to be part of this as I have so much respect for each of these people, and it makes this local yarn store today so much more locally focused. Kits are limited so grab yours while you can. And stop in and say hi tomorrow (Toni and Gwen will be there too!) to celebrate everything the shop will have on special for this big day! 🧶
