Experience is valuable. Having someone willing to share that experience with you can be even more powerful.

WCA Peer Mentor Tela Mange brings 40 years of communications experience across government, nonprofit, and business organizations. A seasoned communications and marketing strategist, she has built a career navigating media relations, crisis communications, public affairs, and some of the complex challenges communicators face throughout their careers.

Tela is also a trainer, consultant, and trusted advisor who believes in sharing what she's learned along the way. As a mentor, she brings decades of perspective, practical guidance, and a straightforward approach to helping fellow communicators grow.

If you're looking for a peer mentor who has seen a lot, learned a lot, and is ready to share it, Tela is an incredible person to have in your corner.

In this month's Ask a Peer Mentor blog, our WCA Peer Mentors share how they navigate anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt: defining your own north star instead of measuring yourself against others, getting curious about why you're a perfectionist, practicing kinder self-talk, refocusing on whether your work actually served the people it was for, and building a daily check-in practice to understand what's really driving the anxiety.

No single fix โ€” just real, lived perspective from women who've been there.

Yesterday at BookPeople, Erin Hoy joined us for our monthly Morning Mingle to talk personal branding and PR โœจ

The takeaway: your differentiator isn't your topic, it's YOU. Someone else can talk about the same thing and it won't land the same way. Owning your methodology and personality is what makes you a "category of one."

This is what Morning Mingles are all about: real conversation, real takeaways, and a room full of people who get it
