PIT IN THE STOMACH FOR JAMAICA TONIGHT. 🇯🇲

This storm just won't cycle or weaken. Not one ounce today. Satellite still shows a monster of a storm. Category 5 Hurricane Melissa is the strongest storm on planet earth and will hit Jamaica with all that force. Melissa will make a direct move toward Jamaica overnight and make landfall near or after sunrise Tuesday.

At sunset Melissa had sustained winds of 175mph, gusts to 215mph and was flirting with being on the top 10 strongest hurricanes ever recorded in Atlantic Ocean history. Jamaica has never been hit by a category 4 hurricane, much less a category 5.

The west and central end of the island appears most likely to take the worst of the it. Think good thoughts. Say a prayer. Let's hope for the best in what appears to be a worst case scenario for the island.
