Today I had the opportunity to present to the pediatric dental residents at Maimonides Health Maimonides Medical Center on the use of hypnosis and guided imagery to help children feel calmer, safer, and more comfortable during dental visits and procedures.

We explored practical ways to help children use their natural imagination, including visiting a favorite place, remembering a happy experience, imagining a trusted person, superhero, or favorite toy by their side, and even using role reversal where the child becomes the dentist and helps care for their stuffed animals or toys.

We also discussed how dental sounds and sensations can be reframed as signals of safety and relaxation, helping children feel more in control and less fearful during treatment.
The residents experienced these techniques firsthand and reported feeling noticeably calmer, more comfortable, and more relaxed. Many were excited to explore how these approaches could help children build trust, reduce anxiety, and create more positive dental experiences.

One of my favorite things about this work is that children already possess incredible imagination. We do not need to teach it. We simply help them use it in a way that supports courage, confidence, and resilience.
Thank you to everyone who participated and for the thoughtful discussion.

I’m really grateful to have graduated with my second master’s from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work this Monday. 🎓❤️

I’m especially thankful for the warmth and sense of community Wurzweiler created, and for my professors, supervisors, classmates, mentors, and everyone who contributed to my growth throughout this journey.

I came into this program wanting to create micro change and am leaving with a much deeper understanding that macro change is equally, if not even more, important. I’m excited to become more involved in systemic change, especially around creating greater accountability within inpatient psychiatric settings, improving funding and incentives for providers with specialized training, and shifting systems from containment toward meaningful care, healing, and measurable outcomes for underserved populations.

I’m also grateful for my internship experience and the opportunity to work one on one with clients, deepen my understanding of trauma informed care, and support healing, empowerment, and growth.

This MSW adds another meaningful layer to my background in education, behavior analysis, and hypnosis, and I’m excited to see where the future leads and for the initiatives I’m beginning to build.

Feeling grateful, proud, and excited for what’s ahead. ❤️🎓

Honored to lead a guided relaxation session for the incredible staff .

Supporting those who show up every day for children and families in the foster care system is deeply meaningful.

In this session, participants had the opportunity to pause, reset, and reconnect, strengthening internal boundaries, letting go of what they cannot control, and building a deeper sense of appreciation for themselves and the impact they have.

At the end of the session, the shift was visible. Participants reported feeling calm, relaxed, and renewed.

Grateful to have been part of it.

Today I had the honor to lead a hypnosis workshop for the therapists at focused on boundaries and sustainable self care.

A central theme we explored was this:
The more grounded you are within yourself, the more fully you can show up for others.

We practiced
✨ reconnecting with personal needs and limits
✨ taking pride in the work they do
✨ releasing clinical material at the end of the day
✨ strengthening physical and emotional boundaries
✨ remembering that giving to yourself is not selfish, it is sustaining

When clinicians care for their own nervous systems, their capacity expands rather than depletes.

Participants shared feeling calm, centered, and clearer about their boundaries afterward.

The more you give to yourself, the more you can sustainably give to others.

✨ Food anxiety isn’t really about food.
It’s about the nervous system.

✨ After digestive symptoms, the body can quietly learn that eating equals danger.
Menus feel stressful.
Restaurants feel risky.
Even “safe” foods create tension.

✨ I lived this firsthand.

✨ During my own Low FODMAP process, I followed careful reintroduction guidelines. I remember being afraid to test foods, trying just a few blackberries and then waiting for symptoms.

✨ At the time, I didn’t realize that constant monitoring was reinforcing hypervigilance. My nervous system stayed on high alert, and my symptoms came back.

✨ When I shifted my focus toward calming hypervigilance and communicating safety to my body, eating began to feel easier.
More flexible.
More trusting.

✨ This lived experience informs how I support clients today, with deep respect for both the fear and the freedom that can emerge when food is no longer treated as a threat.

✨ If this resonates

Birthday reflections ✨

I’m really proud of all the hard work I did on myself this past year: cultivating my inner world, grounding in love, safety, and protection from God … trusting Him to send me everything I need to live on my highest timeline… while releasing the blocks: fear, ego, and lack… one moment, one feeling, one thought a time… and grounding in the truth about me, my soul, higher power, and divine planning.

As a birthday blessing, I wish you all more and more moments of self-love, self-compassion, connection to Source, and living in the land of abundance without fear, ego, or lack. As more and more humans embark on this path….the whole world elevates …. and may we all see that reflected in the outer world of global peace, global love, and global abundance.
