ขอแสดงความยินดีกับ BAR US บาร์จากประเทศไทยเพียงหนึ่งเดียว ที่ผ่านเข้าชิงรางวัล Tales Spirited Awards 2026 ถึง 3 สาขา ในฐานะ Top 4 ก่อนที่จะประกาศผู้ชนะเพียงหนึ่งเดียวในแต่ละสาขาที่นิวออร์ลีนส์ สหรัฐอเมริกา ในวันที่ 23 กรกฎาคมนี้
ก่อนหน้านี้มีบาร์จากบ้านเราผ่านเข้ามาในรอบ Top 10 มากถึง 5 บาร์ ได้แก่ BAR US, Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, Bar Sathorn, Firefly และ BKK Social Club ที่ได้รางวัลจากการประกาศรางวัล Tales Spirited Awards 2026 ของเอเชียแปซิฟิก แต่มีเพียง BAR US เท่านั้นที่ผ่านเข้ามาในรอบ Top 4
โดย BAR US เข้าชิงถึง 3 สาขารางวัล ได้แก่ Best International Bar Team ทีมบาร์ที่ดีที่สุด, Best International Cocktail Bar บาร์นานาชาติที่ดีที่สุด และ World’s Best Cocktail Menu เมนูค็อกเทลที่ดีที่สุดในโลก
โดยรางวัล Spirited Awards เป็นหนึ่งในรางวัลที่ได้รับการยกย่องมากที่สุดในอุตสาหกรรมเครื่องดื่ม รางวัลนี้มอบให้กับบาร์ที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงความหลงใหล ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้กับอุตสาหกรรมเครื่องดื่ม การประกาศรางวัลนี้จัดขึ้นโดย Tales of the Cocktail Foundation ซึ่งในปีนี้จัดเป็นครั้งที่ 20 และเตรียมมอบรางวัลระดับ World ในวันที่ 23 กรกฎาคม ที่นิวออร์ลีนส์ สหรัฐอเมริกา

We are incredibly proud to share that the entire Lochlea Single Estate Core Range has been awarded Double Gold at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, less than a year after its launch.

Double Gold is only awarded when every judge on the blind-tasting panel, unanimously rates a whisky Gold. For a young farm distillery growing all our own barley, distilling and maturing every cask on site, this recognition of the quality of our spirt and how it matures in a range of carefully selected casks is very exciting.

Each of our four expressions (Our Barley, Dark Briar, Orchard & Oak and Smoke Without Fire) reflects the character of our fields, our warehouses, and the people who care for them. To see that work recognised across the full Single Estate range is a milestone for our whole team.

This achievement belongs to everyone at Lochlea, and to all who have supported us along the way. Thank you for believing in what we’re building here on our farm distillery. We are raising a glass to every one of you.

If you've cracked the pronunciation (we get it, it takes a few goes) then it's time to crack the gift.

You know we're huge fans of Bunnahabhain Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky at MoM HQ, and the 18 year-old really doesn't disappoint! 🥃 This rich, complex beauty has spent nearly two decades lounging in a mix of sherry and bourbon casks, soaking up all the good stuff. Bottled at 46.3% ABV without chill-filtration or added colouring (because why mess with perfection?), it serves up layers of sweet, fruity, and savoury deliciousness.

Notes to note:

👃 Nose
Salted caramel leading to sticky toffee pudding sprinkled with nutmeg. With time a leathery quality emerges.

👅 Palate
Dense, rich sherried notes perked up with a coastal saltiness. On a second wave roast chestnuts emerge and gentle wood spice.

🥃 Finish
Woodspice becomes mixed spice. The finish is warming and lengthy; salt and sherry towards the very end.

🍷 จำไวน์แบบไม่ต้องท่อง — ตอนที่ 3
Bourgogne (Burgundy): จำบันได 4 ขั้น แล้วอ่านฉลากไวน์แพงให้เป็น

เวลาเห็นไวน์จาก Bourgogne หลายคนอาจรู้สึกว่าอ่านฉลากยากมาก
บางขวดเขียนว่า Bourgogne
บางขวดเขียนชื่อหมู่บ้าน
บางขวดมีคำว่า Premier Cru
และบางขวดมีเพียงชื่อแปลก ๆ เช่น Chambertin หรือ Montrachet

แต่ความจริงแล้ว จำเพียง “บันได 4 ขั้น” ก็เริ่มเข้าใจได้ครับ

🪜 ขั้นที่ 1: Régionale
ตัวอย่างเช่น Bourgogne Rouge หรือ Bourgogne Blanc

องุ่นสามารถมาจากพื้นที่กว้างภายในแคว้น Bourgogne
เหมาะสำหรับคนที่อยากเริ่มทำความรู้จักไวน์ของภูมิภาคนี้

จำง่าย ๆ ว่า:

ระดับจังหวัด — เริ่มต้นง่าย ดื่มได้บ่อย

🏘️ ขั้นที่ 2: Village
ตัวอย่างเช่น Chablis, Pommard, Meursault หรือ Gevrey-Chambertin

ไวน์ระดับนี้จะระบุชื่อหมู่บ้าน
พื้นที่แคบลง และเริ่มมีบุคลิกเฉพาะตัวชัดขึ้น

จำง่าย ๆ ว่า:

ระดับอำเภอ — เริ่มรู้แล้วว่ามาจากบ้านไหน

⭐ ขั้นที่ 3: Premier Cru

ตัวอย่างเช่น:

หรือ

ไวน์มาจากพื้นที่ที่ได้รับการยอมรับว่ามีคุณภาพโดดเด่นภายในหมู่บ้านนั้น

จำง่าย ๆ ว่า:

ทำเลดีในหมู่บ้าน — เหมือนบ้านอยู่ในซอยทองหล่อ, อารีย์

👑 ขั้นที่ 4: Grand Cru
นี่คือขั้นสูงสุดของ Bourgogne

บนฉลากอาจไม่จำเป็นต้องเขียนชื่อหมู่บ้านใหญ่ ๆ แล้ว
แต่เขียนชื่อไร่องุ่นสำคัญไปเลย เช่น:

Chambertin
Musigny
Clos de Vougeot
Montrachet

เพราะชื่อไร่เหล่านี้ดังมากจนกลายเป็นชื่อ Appellation ของตัวเอง

จำง่าย ๆ ว่า:

ทำเลระดับแลนด์มาร์ก — ไม่ต้องบอกชื่อเขต ทุกคนก็รู้จัก เช่น Dusit Central Park, One Bangkok

✅ จำให้ได้

Bourgogne → Village → Premier Cru → Grand Cru

หรือคิดแบบอสังหาริมทรัพย์:

ระดับจังหวัด → ระดับอำเภอ → ทำเลดี → แลนด์มาร์ก

ยิ่งพื้นที่ที่ระบุบนฉลากแคบลง
ไวน์ยิ่งมีความเฉพาะเจาะจงมากขึ้น และโดยทั่วไปมักมีราคาสูงขึ้น

แต่มีข้อสำคัญหนึ่งอย่าง:

🍷 ไวน์ระดับสูงกว่า ไม่ได้แปลว่าจะอร่อยถูกปากเรามากกว่าเสมอไป

ผู้ผลิต ปีวินเทจ และสไตล์ที่เราชอบ ยังมีความสำคัญมาก
บางครั้ง Village จากผู้ผลิตดี ๆ อาจน่าดื่มกว่าไวน์ระดับสูงที่ยังไม่พร้อมเปิดก็ได้ครับ

เราก็เริ่มเข้าใจแล้วว่า ทำไมไวน์ Bourgogne บางขวดราคาต่างกันมาก 🍷
