𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟔: A pretty common everyday mistake. Whisky or Whiskey. These days, this golden liquid is made all around the world. Of course, ultimately, the word means much less than the liquid. Changing the spelling is definitely not going to affect the taste of your wee dram in that glass, but you still gotta understand what’s the difference!

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟒: The older the brand is perceived or rather advertised to be, the more trust people have in them. This has ensued in brands exaggerating their year of establishments or use dates that could correspond to a big event that happened during their ancestors’ years. This is something to ponder on and question ourselves how realistic advertising is.

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟑: Older taste better. This might just be one of the biggest myths in the whisky industry. Old whiskies are considered a higher tier and may be priced unreasonably high in the market. Let us not be influenced by public beliefs and learn the right way of selecting your whiskies.

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟐: As an extension to the first myth, many think that the colour of the whisky is associated solely from the barrel. A lot of brands have been using colour as a marketing technique and is gaining a lot of popularity. But let us tell you why a particular whisky should not be judged by the colour of it.

Whisky has come from a long and complicated history, so it is no surprise that there are some myths surrounding this golden liquid.

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟏: People tend to think that the colour of the whisky is an indication of age. Great advertising has created many misconceptions, but here at Whisky Butler, we want to correct some of the popular whisky myths and put them to rest.

We have here the sixth bottle of the Frank McHardy series, Speyside 25 Years Old (ABV 60.9%).

As what you can expect from a Speyside malt, it is filled with red fruits like plums and ripe cherries. Lots of sweet and soft sherry notes, orange and marzipan on the palate, and leaves notes of rum and raisin ice cream lingering on the finish.

If you are interested to try this incredible malt at a special price, do visit the link in our bio to sign up for our Collector’s Club membership!

Originally a barley mill and croft back in the olden days, it was slowly converted into the now single malt distillery and started producing spirits in the 90’s. The small private distillery is nurtured by highly skilled distillers dedicated to crafting the highest quality whisky for every single drop that they produce. Speyside distillery has a traditional dunnage warehouse on the same premises where they age and mature their whisky. Using a combination of American oak and sherry casks, their whiskies are highly regarded as being one of the smoothest and pleasant malts in the Speyside region.

As a part of the Collectors Club, you can have access to exclusive and sought-after limited-edition releases at pre-launch prices and bundle packages. Stay tuned as we release the sixth Frank McHardy series bottling for you.
