The second day of competition, the Open Category of the TFAS National Championship 2026 – World Cup Edition delivered a captivating showcase of elite Sports Table Football, as Singapore’s top players battled through a high-intensity field defined by precision, composure, and competitive fire.
From the opening rounds to the final flick, the tournament reflected the very best of Subbuteo—where strategy meets ex*****on, and matches are decided by the finest of margins.

The competition began with a fiercely contested group stage, where no match was taken for granted. Established players were pushed to their limits, while emerging challengers demonstrated fearless ambition.

Semifinals: Battles of Experience and Nerve
The semifinals featured four of the tournament’s standout performers:
Michael Choong vs Ashley Tan
Rudy Hesty vs Vikas Chandiramani
In the first semifinal, Michael Choong and Ashley Tan engaged in a tactical contest, with both players demonstrating disciplined play and measured attacking approaches. Micheal edged out Ashley 2-1 to advance to the final.
The second semifinal saw Rudy Hesty take on Vikas Chandiramani in a high-energy encounter. Both competitors displayed exceptional control and determination, with momentum shifting throughout the match. Eventually Rudy's fast tempo play and accuracy won the match with him convincingly desptaching Vikas 3-0.
At the end of two intense encounters, Micheal Choong and Rudy Hesty advanced to the final, setting up a compelling championship clash.

The final between Micheal Choong and Rudy Hesty lived up to expectations, delivering a gripping contest defined by skill, composure, and tactical awareness.
Michael opened the scoring with a precise and well-executed finish, asserting early control. Rudy responded with determination, pressing forward and keeping the contest alive with relentless effort.
As the match reached its final stages and the score level at 2-2, Rudy maintained his composure, executing his game plan with patience, discipline and focus. His ability to manage the tempo and capitalise on key moments proved decisive with a sudden death goal to take the championship 3-2.
In the Plate Category, Canberra-based player Nick Brill took his very first Singapore category title with a convincing 4-1 win over Singapore's top Subbuteo players, Den Mulia.
