My coffee cup had a funny & much needed message for me today 😈

I landed in London early this morning and spent the day at a co-working space (where I met the inspirational mug) clearing the mental decks so I can attend for the next two days. It’s a conference about self-publishing that I hope will give me a leg up. 🤓

Looking forward to learning a lot!

Two of my cousins & their spouses came to the Czech Republic to visit for a few days. It was such fun to play tour guide (and tourist) here again. I took them to Kutná Hora to see the ossuary and medieval silver mine and in Prague we went to the Strahov library and the Jewish Museum. 💚

I think I was in college the last time I saw both of them together!

Connie and Liz at Strahov Monastery library. The monastery was founded in the 1100s and the library dates from the 1600s. I stayed right down the street from the monastery the first month I moved to Prague but I don’t think I have visited it since! (Well, I *have* visited the brewery…)

On the train to Kutná Hora! (No photos from the train back; we had a moment where apparently my cousins were worried they would have to sleep on a bench at the abandoned train station…)

Earlier this month I stopped for a few glorious, sunny days in Venice on my way back to the more-frozen north of the Czech Republic. I’ll post photos of canals too, but here’s what the city’s walls are telling us. (Plus a poem on a tree. )

According to a translation app, this means: Nothing of ours is truly ours except a thread of voice and a root in the sea.

I searched the text but couldn’t find the author. Anyone know? 💚

Here’s my view of the Žižkov Tower from

I kind of like the old-school TV screen shape but hope they add the ability to use text on there too. I need me some jokes.
