On 23rd and 24th of October, UCP dramatics club made another history when they got three consecutive standing ovations during the Play. For the first time, club went out of the university and performed their second annual play Dard-e-natamam under patronage of Prof. Ayesha Kashif and was Directed by Ahmad Himtal and Zohaib Azhar. It was a three act classical stage play based on the story of Muslim
rebellions working for freedom from Britain back in 1857. Captain Thomas (Haseeb Amir) was a British solider appointed to kill Ismail Azad Khan (Fakhar Fareed) but fortune proved itself and Rebecca (Maheen Rizvi), daughter of captain was in love with Ismail. So the death of Ismail created a mysterious situation at captain’s place. Play was concluded at 1947 when Rebbaca was of 98 years deciding to live with her dead Ismail and migrated to Muslim land. The whole team worked very hard for almost 6 months to make this play a big hit. Hurdles started from the day first when they were in casting phase as such acting. It was not possible by unprofessional but UCP students proved themselves that they are not less than anyone. To portray 1860’s picture was again a very difficult task but creative minds also make it possible with their talent. The credit of this big success goes to whole team of UCP Dramatics Club and all other associated with this project. For free passes contact:
