CTU-Tabogon Transfers DTI-Donated Shared Service Facilities to CTU-Tuburan
August 8, 2025 – CTU-Tabogon Extension Campus
In a significant move to enhance academic and community-based initiatives, the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) donated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) were officially transferred from Cebu Technological University (CTU) – Tabogon to CTU – Tuburan Campus on August 8, 2025, at the CTU-Tabogon Extension.
The turnover ceremony was graced by distinguished officials from both campuses and DTI. Present during the event were CTU-Tuburan Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita, CTU-Tabogon Campus Director Dr. Rolina C. Paran, Food Innovation Center (FIC) Director Dr. Vicel Albaño, and Administrative Officer V / Resource Generation Chair Mrs. Emmylou Tabotabo. Representing DTI-Cebu were SUTIDS and SSF Program Manager Ms. Grace M. Durano and Provincial Coordinator Mr. Clifford Dinopol, alongside the dedicated staff of the Food Innovation Center.
The transfer marks a strategic step in strengthening CTU-Tuburan’s capability to support innovation, skills development, and product enhancement for local entrepreneurs and students. The SSF program, initiated by DTI, aims to provide micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with better access to equipment and technology, fostering competitiveness and economic growth in the region.
Dr. Abaquita expressed her gratitude to DTI for their continued support, emphasizing that the facilities will play a vital role in advancing CTU-Tuburan’s extension services and research initiatives, particularly in food technology and product development. Dr. Paran also highlighted the strong collaboration between the two campuses in ensuring that the SSF will be fully maximized for community benefit.
The event concluded with a symbolic turnover and commitment from both parties to sustain and expand the impact of the SSF program, ensuring that it continues to empower the communities served by CTU.
