Muscat: Public and private companies from a wide swath of sectors are scheduled to visit India along with Oman's minister of commerce and industry later this month.

The trip is of high significance considering the recently launched 'Make in India' campaign of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to make India a global 'manufacturing hub'.

According to ficci-b2b.com, the delegates include representatives of Oman Oil, Omran, Oman Trading Establishment (OTE), Orpic, Oman Investment Fund, Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Paiped), Public Establishment for Industrial Estate (PEIE), the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF), Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC), alizz islamic bank, Bank Muscat, Al Zubair Corporation, Gulf Energy, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) and WJ Towell.

Businessmen from Abu Hani Group (construction and interior design, catering, health food, automotive services, real estate, gas and fire engineering services, home and office furniture services), Al Ajmi Marble (construction – tiles , marble, stone, and granite) and Al Assarain (retail and consumer services, commercial wholesale, manufacturing, construction, maintenance and property real estate) will also participate.

Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy will be leading a business delegation to New Delhi on October 29 for the India-Oman Joint Commission meeting. The minister's visit will be preceded by The Joint Business Council meeting on October 28 between Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and APEX chambers.

Al Yousef Group (oil and gas, logistics, financial services, consumer products, infrastructure and real estate) and Al Zaman Group of Companies (retail, luxury and lifestyle, technology, real estate, trading, tea, special projects, oil and gas, petrochemicals, insurance and financial services, telecom, shipping and logistics) are other participants.

IBD Group (oil field equipment, business consultancy, telecom support and transformation, water and wastewater, energy and power, manpower and human resources services), and MB Holdings (oilfield services, exploration and production, mining and minerals, engineering services) will also take the trip to India.

Other delegation members include representatives of Omar Zawawi Group (mining and mineral processing, industrial hospitality and catering, travel and tourism, engineering, construction and contracting, trading and defence services, real estate and hotels and investment) and Qurum Business Group (integrated facilities management, engineering, it, marine and coastal, landscaping and horticulture, financial services, contracting, oil and gas services, project support services and telecoms, power).

Yahha Group Holding (safety deluge equipment, retail, leisure, hospitality, food and beverage, telecom and IT, expanding defense contracting and light manufacturing) will also take part in the business trip.

Muscat — The IBD Group and its sister company VEC Oil & Gas Consultants will participate in the 9th international edition of Oil & Gas West Asia (OGWA) as exhibitors and as gold and silver sponsors, respectively.
Sayyid Mohammed al Said, Chairman of IBD Group and managing director of VEC, says “This is the fifth time that we have participated in the Oil & Gas exhibition. When we first took part, we did so with a small 3m x 3m stand. The exhibition has been instrumental to showcase our capabilities and benchmark ourselves for growth over the next two years, when the next edition of OGWA comes along.”
OGWA will be held from March 31 to April 2 at the Oman International Exhibition Center in conjunction with the high-level EOR Conference organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at the Golden Tulip Hotel Seeb.
IBD Group started as a company holding agency representation for various companies to become today an integrated business with those agencies adding value to their services in Oman under the ICV flag. IBD Industries, a workshop based in Nizwa Industrial Estate, is currently providing repairs and services of all kinds of rotating equipment and is also custom-manufacturing parts required by the oil and gas industry.
Other companies under the IBD Group include IBD Technical Services specialising in field services that include flowline and pipeline installation using Zaplok technology, complementing and substituting the welding of steel pipes and can construct one kilometre of pipeline a day with a single unit.
