Where the wild wind blows….

Sounds a bit like a new computer game but no….the Brand Bros. are among the leading figures of Germany’s natural wine movement.
A wild wind is blowing through the ‘Heimat’... that of the Brand Brothers. With their youthful energy, Jonas and Daniel Brand make amazing juicy and energetic natural wines in the Palatinate (Pfalz, Germany).

One of the defining characteristics of their wines is the low alcohol level, typically below 11%. This makes the wines buoyant: bright, juicy, and refreshingly drinkable. Despite their delicacy, they show clarity, structure, and impressive balance. Moreover the wines of the Brand Bros are the ultimate ‘party starters’...

WTB 2019 - Nestarec (Czech Republic).

WTB in the words of Milan Nestarec:

This wine reflects our precious loess soil better than any other. Úlehle is a vineyard that’s new to us, and one of the oldest we have – it is a highly prized and time-tested site planted in the 1970s. I feel proud that we can farm here too, since 2019, albeit on less than a hectare. The loess gets mixed with a small amount of limestone there, which adds to the wine’s wit and typicity. Exactly what I’m looking for, especially in our “top-shelf” White Label range.

This wine captures the authentic soul of Gruner Veltliner from Bilovice loess marvelously. It’s a thank you to the land and the place. Integrity and roots. Humility.

The name is a nod to its older Gruner sibling WTF, giving away that the key to this wine’s personality is not what happens in the cellar (flor), but in the vineyard (Bilovice).

‘This wine reflects our precious loess soil better than any other. Clos des Mourres – Authentic Natural Wine from the Vaucluse (Rhône)
Clos des Mourres is the family-run wine estate of Ingrid (4th generation) and Jean-Philippe Bouchet, located in the Vaucluse, near the iconic Mont Ventoux. Everything here is done by hand and with heart: the vineyards are organically farmed, and the estate also applies elements of biodynamics — working according to the lunar calendar, spraying herbal teas, and using natural volcanic sulfur only when needed, and even then, minimally (just at bottling).

The goal? To keep the soil — and the wine — as alive and healthy as possible. All wines from Clos des Mourres reflect this philosophy: they are pure, fresh, and wonderfully drinkable — both red and white.

A perfect example is their cuvée Pompette — a playful, easygoing wine that captures the spirit of the estate. Pompette is a French word meaning “slightly tipsy” — that light, joyful feeling after a couple of glasses of good wine. And that’s exactly what this wine delivers: vibrant, natural, and irresistibly enjoyable.

Clos des Mourres succeeds in beautifully combining terroir, craftsmanship, and purity. Outstanding quality at very fair prices.
