Pink Istanbul is an Art & Dance event linking the scenes of Istanbul and Amsterdam, for Turks and non Turks, gays, lesbians, and their straight friends, to celebrate music, art and dance here in Amsterdam and in Istanbul! le clichés, ultra vague sounds and lots of weird stuff from Holland and from beyond the Bosphorus. Pink Istanbul started with this concept in 2008 within Paradiso Amsterdam and grew out to be an important 'bridge' between the social activist and artistic gay scenes of The Netherlands and Turkey giving a stage to LGBT artists in both countries but also through the organisation of more up to date informative debates, film screenings, panel discussions with and between LGBT activists in both countries. Thus providing a stage for activism with and within the cultural scene! in 2012 Pink Istanbul was also one of the organisers of both The Turkish Boat itself as well as the documentary "De Turkse Boot" (The Turkish Boat) a movie by Chris Belloni on the first Turkish Gay Pride Boat at the Amsterdam Canal Pride 2012!
