📢Big news, must-read!!!

Dear SOOP community,

The SOOP team has made the difficult decision to discontinue SOOP. As some of you already know, Diederik and Marije are selling the Kompaszaal. They decided this last year (before Corona) because they have enjoyed running it but also felt that they are up for new adventures.

The Kompaszaal has been an important part of the Lindy Hop community in Amsterdam for more than 12 years. With many thanks to Diederik and Marije, who played an important role in supporting this initiative from the start with George Yi, Arnout, Frank, Praveen, Yara, Sanne, Hákon and us through the 10th anniversary in 2018 ending with SOOP stories in between two lockdowns during Corona. I think we speak for many of us if we say that SOOP is not the same without Diederik and Marije. Although never on the forefront for dancers we as (former) organisers know how important their role was during those years.

This is a good time to say thanks to them for these wonderful years. We are going to end the SOOP era here and give the opportunity to the new owners and other people in the scene to create new things.

Personally we are going to depart SOOP and the Kompaszaal but not the scene. We will definitely be back with new and fresh ideas and events. For the next 6 months we are probably occupied with playing Pandemic, putting sticks in our nose holes and prickly things in our arms. After that you will definitely hear from us again.

This Friday before the Martinsson Hot Four starts we would love to see you during dinner time. Especially since we have our own vegan, glutenfree (edit: the bun is not glutenfree) SOOP burger!! nomnom🤪

Dennis, our chef made this special vegan burger for SOOP some time ago, but we never got to try it because of this pandemic thingy.

The Vegan Burger is made from black beans and sweet potato topped with vegan cheddar, salad, tomato, onion, sriracha mayonaise and, what is a burger without fries! Just for €14,75.
