Born from a collective dream of running a beachside restaurant and bar, Zephyr was launched in mid 2014 in picturesque Mirissa Bay, on the south coast of the island. A group of like-minded friends came together to create our version of the ultimate beachside haven; good food and delicious cocktails on a beach of palm fringed perfection. Nestled in a garden of palms, overlooking the rolling surf, Z

ephyr Arugam Bay marked a new chapter in our journey. From south coast to east coast our promise remained the same. Zephyr Ceylon went on to open its doors by setting up a villa in beautiful Talalla in the south too. We faced a lotta challenges during the pandemic, but now we have finally relaunched two amazing spots once again in the south coast in beautiful Weligama right next to the Marriot and also the Zephyr restaurant and bar in Kamburugamuwa. All our produce is sourced daily from local markets to ensure ultimate freshness and to support growers, farmers and fisherman who use traditional methods. We invite you to enjoy our version of tropical paradise and we hope in turn, to welcome you to the ever-growing Zephyr family.

Being an owner doesn’t mean only overlooking the business. Sometimes it means stepping into the kitchen, into the heat, the noise, and the pressure, to be a part of what your team goes through every day.
There’s a different kind of respect that comes from being behind the scenes in the sweat, the pace, and the constant demand to get it right. It never is easy work. It takes energy, patience, and a certain grit that you can’t fake.
Kitchens are loud. There’s shouting, urgency, and intensity, but underneath it all there is a respect for one another. That’s what holds it together.
Because real leadership isn’t distant. It’s present. It listens, it learns, and it stands shoulder to shoulder with the people doing the work.

Zephyr Ceylon welcomed PourRoom from Guangzhou to Kamburugamuwa Sri Lanka, uniting two distinct bar cultures through shared techniques, evolving technology, and a collective passion for the craft.
What began as collaboration in Sri Lanka now continues abroad, as Zephyr Ceylon heads to Guangzhou and Shenzhen for our upcoming takeover at PourRoom.
