🌿 HIKE THEN SIP 🍷
Step away from the city and reconnect with nature, history, and the flavors of the Lebanese terroir.
Château Gharzouz and The Vineista, in collaboration with Museolab and Likaa El Ared, invite you to a unique experience in the heart of Gharzouz, a historic village nestled in the hills above Byblos.
Our journey begins at Château Gharzouz, where we will walk through the vineyards before continuing along ancient paths that tell the story of the land and its people. Together, we will discover the hidden beauty of Gharzouz, explore indigenous plants, visit the Monastery of the 40 Martyrs, and walk among ruins that have stood for more than a thousand years.
Along the way, we will stop at Likaa El Ared to learn about sustainable and regenerative agriculture, discover how local communities are working to preserve biodiversity, and reconnect people with the land through traditional knowledge and responsible farming practices.
This hike is also an opportunity to travel back in time and discover how our ancestors lived from the riches of these mountains. Wine, olive oil, honey, zaatar, wild herbs, and local agriculture have shaped the identity of this region for centuries and continue to tell the story of Lebanon’s rural heritage.
As the sun begins to set over the surrounding hills, we will return to Château Gharzouz for a guided tasting of the estate’s wines and arak, accompanied by a selection of local products from the terroir.
