Osaka Comedy Club Osaka Comedy Club, Osaka's number one English Stand-Up Comedy Club It's also one of the only stand-alone comedy clubs in Asia.

Established in 2011, Osaka Comedy Club (formally ROR Comedy) is a collective of some of the top comedians in Japan. Our comedians have performed across Asia, including headline spots in Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, Okinawa, and Fukuoka. We also host international headline comedians, including Steve Hofstetter, Josie Long, Adam Bloom and Perrier Award Winner Phil Nichol.

Meet the Comedian: Tony Romani

Tony Romani is an award-winning comedian, longtime headliner at Osaka Comedy Club, and one of its founders.

Originally from Canada, Tony helped build a space where English stand-up comedy in Osaka could truly thrive.

His comedy delivers sharp, insightful observations about life in Japan. From the quirks of daily routines to the unexpected realities of being an expat, Tony turns shared cultural mishaps into unforgettable laughs.

But what makes Tony special isn’t just his jokes.

He helped create a stage where comedians can experiment, grow, and take risks, and a space where travelers from any country can completely relax. After navigating a country where the language, customs, and “rules” can feel confusing, here you don’t have to worry about doing the wrong thing or saying the wrong thing. Everyone can just be themselves and enjoy the night, laughing freely together.

At Osaka Comedy Club, you’re allowed to laugh at the confusion, the awkwardness, and the beautifully strange moments of life in Japan.

And Tony is a big reason that space exists.
