Never arrogant, he is a walking encyclopedia of history but with excitement & always a clear, fresh, eager open mind.

He is one of my most favorite people I’ve ever met and his wine reflects every bit of his relationship with his land & what (they both) are capable of producing while steadfastly fighting against the bland norm.

It’s Valdisole’s 6th birthday and we thought to share with you how this place looked like when we first started the Valdisole project!

We still have a long way to go but it’s also rewarding to take a minute to observe the transformation of this place!

Wow.
I am honestly having a hard time finding words…
I have loved these wines from the first moment I tasted them many years ago and my heart is completely full with excitement to have the opportunity of working together with them for the USA.

The wines and work of are like no other Friulian wine I’ve ever had.
They represent their land —purely—honestly— and confidently.
There is so much soul in their bottlings the memory of them can literally haunt you, remaining in your heart and mind until you have the chance to drink them again.

Denis took over their 4th generation winery at age 19 returning to nature through his land and now his son Carlo is following the same path.
Their vineyards have been bio since 1992 (1996 officially) their land is a living land full of vitality and diversity without compromise, (never any use of chemicals or manipulations).

•Verduzzo di Scodovacca
•Rosé Refosco

& an incredible Aceto di Vino | Vin Aci.
Each a solid and pure expression of honesty & integrity from them as humans and caregivers of their land that can be produced by their hands.

When Sangiovese’s voice is allowed to speak it is beautiful. Never masked by oak, never pumped up with int’l varieties, never polluted with chemicals/colorings/synthetic yeasts/SO2... just good, pure, authentic Sangiovese the way has worked since 1071.
