We are going into a new era with ABSENT. New look, same old vibe except we are adding some new cool features with our first thing being B-Side hour which we will be playing songs by the likes of State Champs/Neck Deep/Alkaline Trio/Static Dress/Deaf Havana/Underoath/Hawthorne Heights/The Starting Line and many, many more mixed in with lesser known songs from your favourite bands and albums. 🖤💚🖤 wanna play the bangers that people know but don’t get enough recognition at emo night.

A YEAR IN REVIEW 002 
This year has been incredible for us. We started the year off with our Carnival themed absent in Monroes, to hosting the bring me the horizon after party in workman’s in Dublin. We didn’t expect so many familiar faces to come to that especially us being in another city. 
We then did a SOLD OUT St. Patrick’s Day in the cellar basement which will go down as one the best absents we have done so far. We hosted so many incredible events and got to work with the likes of AWOL Tattoo and Victor Tattoo, Even MCD to giveaway tickets. In July of this year we went back to back with events bringing in EMO KARAOKE and getting to run ABSENT in the Roisin Dubh. Then we moved into the winter. Though we took some months to rest up we then came back in October after the loss of one of our favourite venues we got to run our events in Cuba, Roisin saved the day let us host an incredible night in the upstairs to which we completely packed it out and it was incredible to see this thing grow. 🖤⛓️🖤

Though this year it got a bit much in times, I always knew that running this event is me at my most happiest and the feeling of singing and connecting with you all to these songs will never go away & it will always be my favourite place to call home. 🖤💚🖤

“I Know What You Did Last Absent” launches on NEW YEARS EVE at the Cellar Basement. I can’t wait to celebrate what has been an incredible experience of a year and came out of it stronger and proud of what ABSENT has become. 🖤🪝🖤

To those of you who joined us this year. Thank you for coming and sticking with us. To those of you who have been here since the start or your very first absent THANK YOU!! To know this night means something to people makes me incredibly stoked to carry it on.

On NYE we are back in The Cellar Basement with live sets from and with a live drum / dj set let’s end this year the only way we know how. The alternative community in Galway is incredible! 🖤🕰️🖤 the bands that we got to work with, to all the photographers and videographer’s that helped us year. Thank you for joining us.
