It's been a great few weeks, the sunshine really helping matters. From locals to holiday makers, and even the exchanging of wedding vows in the garden, a brilliant summer so far and plenty more to come

🎂🎉🥳

The happiest of birthdays to our most experienced member of staff. Margaret Whooley has seen eight Irish presidents in her lifetime and is currently enjoying her 17th World Cup.

After another year around the sun, she remains philosophical.

"Aging is a bit like owning a second-hand car; the mileage shows, strange noises appear at random, and no amount of Polish hides the fact the warranty expired decades ago. The way I look at it, age is a high price to pay for maturity."

We’re stocked and repainted
Scrubbed all the floors
Only a week left
Til we open our doors

Winter’s behind us
Summer is here
The staff are buzzing
Of that there’s no fear

Cormac is giddy
Some call him a nutter
He swears it’s genetic
‘All from the mother’

Margaret is busy
No messing around
‘Usually’ says Cormac
‘She’s fairly sound’

She loves meeting people
Listening to tales
Yet runs a tight ship
Tough as nails

Any tourists take note
(Locals will agree)
No late-night nursing of pints
Or all day to drink tea

So see you soon
The opening is on track
Kinds regards,
The boss and Cormac
