🍾 THE FACES BEHIND WWA 🍾

What makes a great international wine competition? Is it the wines? The jury? The team behind the scenes? The communications?

The answer is simple: it's all of these—and the people who bring every piece together.

From the first preparations, which begin months before the competition, to collecting and judging more than 1,000 wines, coordinating the jury, communicating with wineries, managing sponsors and partners, overseeing sales, and finally sharing the results with the world, every step is brought together by one person: Bogi Ádám, CEO of Winelovers.

Leading an event of this scale is far more than a three-day commitment. It requires months of planning, constant communication, and the ability to keep countless moving parts aligned. Every edition aims to deliver even greater value for wineries, strengthen partnerships, expand the competition's reach, and create an even smoother experience for everyone involved.

Through her dedication, strategic vision, and tireless leadership, Bogi keeps the entire operation running—from the first conversation with a winery or sponsor to the final announcement of the results. She is truly one of the driving forces behind the success of the Winelovers Wine Awards.

🏆 Best of Italy, France & Spain – Winelovers Wine Awards 2026 🇮🇹🇫🇷🇪🇸

Some countries don't just make wine — they are wine. This year's Best of awards remind us why Italy, France, and Spain remain the beating heart of the wine world: the Old World that wrote the rulebook every modern winery still studies today.

🇮🇹 Best of Italy: Compagnia Siciliana 1921 – Real Academia 2020
A Nero d'Avola from Sicily, named after 1921 — the year Sicilian wine first conquered international markets. Rich, velvety, full of red fruit and licorice, dressed (quite literally, on the label) in Sicilian tradition.

🇫🇷 Best of France: Champagne Brimoncourt Extra Brut NV
An 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay blend sourced from six Grand Cru villages, aged six years in the cellar. Precise, mineral, and unmistakably Champagne.

🇪🇸 Best of Spain: El Vínculo – Alejairén Crianza 2023
Made from 90-year-old Airén vines in La Mancha and aged in French oak — proof that even Spain's most humble native grape can produce something extraordinary.

These three countries paved the path that every "new world" winery has followed since — the appellations, the techniques, the philosophy of terroir. Old World wine isn't just history. It's still winning. 🍷

🍾 THE FACES BEHIND WWA 🍾

No wine competition of this scale could happen without the dedication of our incredible interns.

Year after year, many of them return to the Winelovers Wine Awards, becoming familiar faces and an indispensable part of the team. Their enthusiasm, reliability, and hard work help keep every tasting session running smoothly.

From preparing the tasting rooms and supporting the logistics team to serving wines to the judges with precision and care, our interns are involved in every step of the competition. They also assist with score administration, ensuring that every result is recorded accurately and every tasting proceeds without interruption.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout the competition. We are grateful for their commitment, energy, and willingness to go the extra mile—because behind every successful edition of the Winelovers Wine Awards is a team of helping hands that makes it all possible.

🏆 Best of Romania – Winelovers Wine Awards 2026 🇷🇴

Congratulations to Balla Géza Pincészet for taking home Best Wine of Romania with their Sziklabor Feketeleányka – Cabernet Franc 2019!

This special cuvée — a blend of 60% Fekete Leányka and 40% Cabernet Franc — comes from the Ménes wine region in Partium, grown on granite, diorite, and clay-slate soils. Barrel aging brings out notes of vanilla and to***co, layered over ripe tannins and the mineral character that defines wines from this region. 🍷

The Winelovers Wine Awards is one of Central Europe's largest international wine competitions, with over 1,000 wines judged by an expert jury each year — and this bottle from Ménes stood out as the very best of Romania.
Cheers to Balla Géza Borászat for representing Romanian winemaking at its finest! 👏

🍾THE FACES BEHIND WWA🍾

Behind every great wine competition, there's a team working quietly to make it all come together — except this time, quiet wasn't really the plan.

Meet Kristóf Tóth, part of the team behind the Winelovers Wine Awards — handling marketing, communications, and jumping in wherever an extra pair of hands was needed on-site.

From getting the word out before the event to keeping communications running smoothly during the competition, Kristóf helped make sure the story of WWA reached wineries, partners, and wine lovers alike. And when the doors opened and things got busy, he was right there on-site — solving problems, supporting the team, and doing whatever it took to keep things running.

It's this kind of flexibility and dedication that keeps an event of this scale moving — someone willing to step in wherever they're needed, no task too small.
Thank you, Kristóf, for everything you brought to this year's Winelovers Wine Awards! 🍷🙌

🏆 Best of Slovakia – Winelovers Wine Awards 2026 🇸🇰
Huge congratulations to Csernus Winery & Vineyards 🥂 Their Riesling 2025 was just named the Best Wine of Slovakia and the Best Riesling of the whole competition — earning a Grand Gold medal with 95 points.

Grown on the volcanic slopes of the Stráž hill in the Central Slovakian wine region, this is a shining example of just how good Slovak Riesling can be.

The Winelovers Wine Awards is one of Central Europe's largest international wine competitions, with over 1,000 wines judged by an expert jury each year. Only a handful ever earn Grand Gold status — and this bottle from Slovakia stood out among them all. 🍷🥇
Cheers to Csernus Winery for putting Slovak wine on the map! 👏

🍾 THE FACES BEHIND WWA 🍾

When three major wine events take place at the same time, someone has to make sure everything runs seamlessly.

Meet Kata Ádám, our Event Organizer and the driving force behind the on-site logistics of the Winelovers Wine Awards.

From preparing the venue and coordinating logistics to solving last-minute challenges, Kata ensures that every detail is in place before the first guests arrive. She leads the logistics team and oversees the smooth operation of three simultaneous events: the Winelovers Wine Awards judging, Winelovers X, and Meet the Buyer, our B2B networking event connecting wineries with international wine buyers.

Whether it's the jury, wineries, buyers, or partners, Kata makes sure everyone has exactly what they need, exactly when they need it. Her organization, quick thinking, and calm approach are essential to creating a seamless experience for everyone involved.

Behind every successful event is someone making hundreds of details come together—and for Winelovers, that's Kata.
