Whether you are planning for barbecue or picnic, boat trip or dinner party, this is a very versatile wine capable of pairing with a variety of food.

Key Facts of Geyerhof Kirchensteig Riesling Erste Lage Reserve 2011

i) Highly rated: 16.5/20 by Gault Millau, 4/5 by Weinguide Weiß and Winner (Grand Cru category) by À la Carte.

ii) Geyerhof, the producer, was established in 1135 AD and uninterruptedly run by the same winemaking family since the 16th century.

iii) Geyerhof is one of the 26 member-estates of Österreichische Traditionsweingüter (ÖTW), the Austrian equivalent of the German Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter (VDP).

iv) Geyerhof was one of the first estates in Europe to go fully organic biodynamic (since 1988).

v) Thanks to its purity and vaility, the wine holds up well 24 hours or even 48 hours after opening. Do not take my word for it -- try it for yourself.

vi) At just HK$1,110 per case of 6 bottles (i.e. HK$185 per bottle), the value proposition is difficult to beat. Alsace Grand Cru Riesling and German Erste Lage Riesling usually cost significantly more.
