Cultural Playground Cultural Playground由香港聖公會麥理浩夫人中心少數族裔服務部營運，是一間致力為香港的少數族裔社群提供就業機會的社企。我們會在本地學校和公、私營機構籌辦各種外展文化藝術活動，通過活動讓不同族裔人士認識彼此文化，推動社會共融。

Colored sand flowed slowly from fingertips as participants filled symmetrical, auspicious patterns following traditional Rangoli designs. This ancient Indian floor art was originally created to welcome the goddess of fortune. In the focused process, the mind found stillness. Each grain of sand built not only color but also a prayer for completeness.

5月27日是伊斯蘭重要節日：宰牲節（Eid al-Adha），又稱「忠孝節」。
穆斯林會在這天進行禱告、宰牲分享肉食給家人及有需要的人，紀念先知易卜拉欣的忠誠與奉獻。

27 May marks Eid al-Adha, one of the most important Islamic festivals.
Muslims celebrate with prayers, animal sacrifice, and sharing meat with family and those in need, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's devotion and faith.

宰牲節與開齋節不同，它象徵對信仰的「犧牲與分享」。
無論是印度、巴基斯坦還是香港的穆斯林社群，都會穿上新衣、互相拜訪，並把肉分為三份：自己、親友、窮人。

📖 Did you know?

Eid al-Adha is different from Eid al-Fitr. It symbolises "sacrifice and sharing" in faith.
Muslim communities in India, Pakistan, and even Hong Kong wear new clothes, visit each other, and divide the meat into three parts: for self, for relatives and friends, and for the poor.

Colors drifted freely on the water, forming one-of-a-kind patterns. With gentle strokes of the stylus, participants transferred fleeting moments onto silk scarves or paper. Each piece is irreproducible like a state of mind: focused, relaxed, dancing with the water.

我們先透過文化敏感度講座，與參加者探討多元種族的文化、宗教、禮儀與禁忌，建立互相尊重的跨文化視野；接著進入曼陀羅彩點工作坊，以重複點印的靜心技法，在杯墊上逐步構築和諧對稱的曼陀羅圖案，讓參與者在專注創作中沉澱思緒、釋放壓力。

We began with a Cultural Sensitivity Talk, exploring the cultures, religions, etiquette, and taboos of diverse ethnic groups—building a foundation of mutual respect and cross-cultural understanding. Then we moved into the Mandala Coaster Workshop, where participants used repetitive dotting techniques to create harmonious, symmetrical mandala patterns on coasters, finding calm and releasing stress through focused, mindful creation.

Urdu is the national language of Pakistan and is also spoken in parts of India. Written from right to left, it shares similarities with Arabic and Hebrew. Led by ethnic minority instructors, this workshop uses fun, interactive games to help participants easily grasp basic greetings, self-introductions, and everyday phrases. The activity is suitable for all ages—from children to adults—and makes a wonderful parent-child learning experience!
