Floor Press

Shoulder impingement/pain while benching or pressing?

Try this variation with dumbbells or a barbell and continue pressing pain free.

Benefits:
1. Less stress on joints
2. Improves sticking point and lockout of bench press
3. Can be made chest or tricep dominant by position of elbows to bring up weak points

1. Earthquake press- Favorite overhead press variation, fires up smaller stabilizer muscles of the shoulder while utilizing all three heads of the deltoid.
2. Explosive Sled Row- I use this mainly for conditioning days but will throw these in for a max effort back exercise every now and then. Focuses on solely the concentric part of the row.. Great for building power in the posterior chain.
3. Flat bench Push/Pull- Contralateral exercise for the upper body- forces trunk to withstand opposing forces simultaneously.

2. Banded Deadbug- Hip Flexor/Psoas Stability
3. Load and Lift Wall Drill- Acceleration/ Sprint Mechanics
4. Quick switch off plates- Rate of Force Development
5. Kneeling Jump to Stick- Generates power through hips
6. Double Broad Jump- Lower Body Power

Train With Purpose

1. Trap Bar Deadlift- Lower Body Strength- Less force applied through lower back (Good switch up from traditional pulls)
2. Nordic Hamstring Hinge- Hamstring strengthening- Injury prevention
3. Drop Palof Press- Proper absorption of force- Anti-rotational core strength
