Created by Erskine Gwynne, the Boulevardier is a 1920s Prohibition-era. First appearing in Harry MacElhone’s 1927 book, Barflies and Cocktails.
It is a whiskey-based variation of the Negroni, typically consisting of bourbon (or rye), sweet vermouth and Campari, named after Gwynne’s literary magazine.
