Tonight. England vs Argentina, 8pm — their first World Cup meeting since 2002.
Somewhere out there is a pub where you'll watch the second half through a stranger's shoulder blades. This isn't it. A seat, a screen you can actually see, and a Hawkstone kept like this. English, as it happens.
Order in from Knead and eat at your table while you watch.
Doors long before kick-off. Come early enough to sit down.

Two Hawkstone Centurion plaques came home from Farm Fest this weekend — one for The Northcote Saviour, one for The Wokingham Saviour. Tim and Kim collected them after a proper welcome from Jeremy Clarkson in the VIP tent. We're one of 100 venues recognised this year for stocking Hawkstone properly, and we're proud of it. Swipe for Kim, Tim and Rebecca meeting the Lambo. Backing British farming, on the bar and in the glass.
