Cabo Verde gained unexpected global recognition when its national soccer team qualified for the World Cup and performed admirably. This newfound visibility has prompted the country's tourism authorities to capitalise on the increased interest and encourage visitors to book trips to the archipelago.
There is so much diversity across the islands. Hiking especially looks like it is being promoted.

The archipelago, which drew global attention for its performance in the World Cup, has a reputation as a sun-and-sand spot. But it's working hard to broaden its appeal.
