Happy new year to each and everyone!

A massive thankyou to everyone who attended last night's Karaoke and celebrating the start of 2026 with us!

We had some very good singers ( and some that should stick to singing in the shower 🤣)

we have been kindly asked to not post Bones singing Angels ( we really want to though ) after he has watched the video himself 🤷‍♂️

Once again, thankyou everyone for a brilliant and busy evening of entertainment.

We are pleased to announce that we have karaoke from 9pm until 1am!

We will be giving out prizes for best solo and duo performances based on the entertainment factor so come on and let your hair down and show us your best singing voices

Unfortunately, we’re experiencing another issue with the gas supply in the cellar. As a result, we currently have no draught options available, and the pub will be closed for this evening.

We plan to reopen tomorrow at our usual time.

Hello All!

I would like to publicly announce that I have made the call to sadly leave the Royal Oak.

There are multiple factors to the decision which I will explain as I heard so many rumours flying around today.

With the ongoing property issues it makes it hard to run the business efficiently. My business plan hasn't had a chance to come into affect due to the skittle alley sub floor still being rotten, this was supposed to increase the cash flow tenfold.

We've had many set backs such as kitchen closures due to equipment failures or lack of hot water. The cellar even gave up on us this weekend. Amy's salon hasn't been completed due to waiting on Stonegate repairs etc. The list just goes on and it's become a bit of a money pit.

Sadly there is only so much you can put into something until it is time to say enough is enough. It's been a huge learning curve but I will be sad to go. Both me and Amy would like to say a huge thank you to all the locals and staff who have supported us over the last year.

We've had some fantastic highs which include opening weekend with Nathan Jon Music. along with our 80's and 90's nights which were well presented.

As I am on a TAW agreement, I can leave the pub within 24 hours. However, I am working with Stonegate to find someone to take the pub on from me to ensure a smooth transition. I will of course keep everyone updated on the situation.

Those who are interested, I am leaving the industry all together and will be focusing on weddings along with a new day to day work life as an Estate Agent.

Thank you everyone and you have all made the last year memorable.
