BREAKING NEWS: It's raining. Again 🙄

While the final day of TT is doing its best impression of a car wash, we're staying warm, dry, caffeinated, and incredibly grateful.

Back in February, our Wall of Fame was completely blank.

Now it's covered in signatures, doodles, messages, questionable artwork, and enough memories to make us smile every time we look at it.

Every name represents someone who popped in for a coffee, a bite to eat, a catch-up with friends, a break from the weather, or simply somewhere to sit down and feel welcome.

And honestly? We love it! 💚

So if you're currently wandering around Ramsey wondering whether it's worth making a dash to the next shop in this weather, come and see us. ☕😂

We've got hot drinks, tasty food, comfy seats, good company, and absolutely no requirement to discuss motorcycles, weather forecasts, or road closures.

If you haven't signed the Wall of Fame yet, grab a pen and leave your mark before TT 2026 disappears into the mist. 🌧️✍️

The sun's shining for now, but the rain is due back later... ☀️➡️☔

With today's racing cancelled and the Grandstand TT Fan Park closed, why not make the most of the dry spell, head to Ramsey and treat yourself?

Just a quick heads up, we'll be opening at 5pm today.

TT is in full swing, race week is getting underway, the weather is doing its best to ruin everyone's plans, and our small team has been working flat out through it all. I want to give them a few well-earned hours to rest and recharge this afternoon before another busy evening.

A special mention to James in the kitchen, who's been absolutely grafting his arse off throughout TT and keeping everyone fed despite the madness!

We'll be back open from 5pm, and from 7pm we're delighted to have Alex Cowley joining us for an acoustic session in the lounge. 🎶🎵

So if you're fed up with the rain, come and get warm, enjoy some great food, and settle in for a relaxed evening of live music.

Update #537 Well... Ramsey's latest fragrance appears to have moved on 😂

The smell has finally cleared and we'll be opening at 12:30pm today until 10pm. 🥳

Massive thanks to Manx Utilities, and to Ray and Steve for coming to the rescue. After half the town seemed to be investigating the mystery odour, things are finally back to normal.

We're looking forward to a much less eventful afternoon, preferably one that doesn't involve drains, gas engineers, utility companies or detective work.

UPDATE: We finally have an answer! 🥳

After spending the night at the lounge, and with visits from both Manx Gas and the MUA, we can confirm that it wasn't a gas leak and it wasn't anything we'd done 🙌

It appears something has leaked into the drainage system further up the road, which then kindly decided to turn The Green Lounge into Ramsey's newest Eau de Heating Oil experience.

After several hours of wandering around sniffing drains, questioning our life choices, and briefly wondering whether the building was trying to kill us, the source has now been identified and the issue is being dealt with.

The lounge will be opening at 11am today instead of our usual time to give the place a chance to air out properly.

On the bright side, we've learned two important things:

1. There are definitely worse smells than cannabis. 😉
2. Sometimes the problem really is someone else's s**t. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks to everyone for your patience, and a huge thank you to Manx Gas and the MUA for coming out and helping us get to the bottom of it.

See you all at 11am assuming Ramsey's drains don't decide to start a new hobby in the meantime 😂

Unfortunately we’ve had to temporarily close the lounge this evening following advice from Manx Gas due to a strong smell detected in part of the building.

Everyone is safe, but we’re taking it seriously and waiting for the appropriate checks to be carried out before reopening.

Honestly, this building is really testing me at the moment. It feels like I’m constantly firefighting issue after issue behind the scenes instead of being able to fully focus on building the space and experience we’re actually trying to create.

Over the last few weeks alone we’ve dealt with burst pipes, flooding, electrical problems and now this. We know the building isn’t always reflecting the standards or atmosphere we want for the lounge, and that’s frustrating for us too because we genuinely care about what we’re building here. We were really hoping TT would go ahead for us without any building issues but that would be too easy wouldnt it! 🙃

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and stick with us through the chaos. We’ll update everyone as soon as we know more. 💚
