SOLD: 1955 AC Aceca V8
Several AC Acecas have seen their original engines replaced with a V8, but few, if any, have had the level of engineering applied to this example.
The specification has everything you want from a V8-powered Aceca. A 5.0-litre Ford small-block ‘Boss’ 302 engine with a four-barrel Edelbrock carburettor, a Tremec five-speed manual gearbox, all-round vented disc brakes sitting behind 60-spoke chrome wire wheels, electronic ignition, an electric fan and for the benefit of the driver and their lucky passenger, air conditioning.
Completed on 21 October 1955 and built in left-hand drive, the car was originally exported to the Netherlands. Forty years later, it found its way to San Francisco, California, where it underwent an extensive restoration and conversion to its current specification. It was then imported to the UK in May 2021, where it has been fully road registered and has been residing ever since.
