Community Swap Shop pilot at the Broadway Bar Bazaar! 👗 👖 👒
Saturday 15th October, 10am - 1pm at the Broadway Bar, Tolworth.
Swap clothes and accessories with others in your community.
With an estimated £140m worth of clothing sent to UK landfill each year we need to take urgent action and you can help!
We want to encourage re-use and this is your opportunity to encourage a circular economy and avoid waste. Donate your items, receive tokens and swap them for ‘new to you’ items.
The Swap Shop will also act as a clothes bank - unclaimed items will be available to those not able to afford clothing/accessories. The clothes bank will be run on a different day.
How does it work:
Donate your items beforehand, receive a ‘swap’ booklet (you will receive stamps for each item) and swap them at the Swap Shop event.
We will accept good quality, clean and re-usable clothing and accessories (including footwear) - women’s, men’s and children’s items accepted. Please bring items in a condition that you would want to wear/buy or you would be happy for a friend to use.
We will not accept: underwear + swimwear (unless they are brand new with a tag).
Drop-off days/times :
Saturday 8th Oct - 12pm - 4pm
Tuesday 11th Oct - 6pm - 8pm
Saturday 15th Oct - 9am - 12pm (before and during the swap shop)
Please don’t bring any more than 8 items.
Items will be assessed by volunteers and made ready to display (please make sure you definitely want to part with your items before bringing them in).
PLEASE NOTE: Do not leave any items on the premises outside these hours, your donations will not be accepted and we do not have storage facilities. This initiative is run by a community group and we have limited resources.
SWAP SHOP rules: we can refuse any items that do not meet our re-use criteria, please don’t be disappointed. We will operate a system of honesty and trust but we also have limits.
Please bring your own bags to pick up swapped items.
