After a year’s absence, the Christmas Late Evening Community Event will be welcomed back once again on Tuesday 9th December 2014. There will be a very slight change from previous years as the Christmas Tree lights will be turned on at the Church at shortly after 7 pm (previously 6 pm). Afterwards there will be a short carol service inside the Church when we can all join in our favourite carols. Ch
ildren can enjoy a Santa’s grotto at the Grosvenor, the shops will be open with many of them providing hospitality such as mince pies and mulled wine. The whole community is invited and if you would like to volunteer your help with entertainment, tree decoration, marketing or anything else for that matter, please email [email protected]
In addition to the evening event, we will be investing considerable amounts on improving the lighting along the whole High Street and at the roundabout. The main theme will be white and golden lighting and we ask residents and traders to join in with this theme. A professional company, who serve Salisbury & Newbury city centres, has been engaged to assist. However there is the gritty subject of funding for all of this, and we are looking to raise circa £5k for the lighting and evening event. We have already secured backing from the traders and our Parish & Borough Councillors, but if there are individuals who would also like to assist, your contribution of any size will be most gratefully received. Again, please email [email protected] if you would like to contribute or can help with raising funds. We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas together as a community.
