SO WE HAVE OFFICIALLY MADE IT! WHAT A WEEK IT HAS BEEN!

We officially reopened today for the first time in 12 months for socially distanced 30 people!!! We were so happy to see some of our regular faces back in laughing and enjoying themselves with some food and wine... not too mention the new drinks we have on offer going down nicely too!

A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes in the last 12 months, changing brewery’s and cosmeticly changing things but it was all worth it for this week!

Our new Draught drinks are
Budweiser
Stella Artois
Magners
Boddingtons

Not too mention some new editions such as Hendricks Gin to go with some Fevertree Tonic and cucumber!

Private hire sector of hospitality has been badly hit with the pandemic but I am grateful to say that we have come through the other side and can now begin to push on and make peoples days special!

No matter the occasion whether it’s a birthday party, wedding receptions, engagement party’s, stag do’s/hen party’s or just a reunion and an excuse to dress up and have a party, we cater for it all and we can’t wait to see more people in through our doors laughing and joking with Friends and family!

Please get in touch whether it’s on private message or email to book your event with us! This week has been a MASSIVE week for us and the private hire sector!

Another year another venture....

Thinking of hosting a party when Covid 19 is over? Why not get in touch and find out what dates we have available for later in 2021.

We aim to make any party you have with us one of the best you'll have, so when the pandemic is all over lets get back to what we all love doing, booking and organising things with everyone in attendance enjoying themselves with friends and loved ones whilst a DJ plays with a few drinks....

Nothing beats a room full of people having a good time all together.

Out with the old and in with the new, i think we can all say that 2020 can be described as a terrible year, everyone focusing on Covid-19 and everyone has had many different opinions within the own rights.

However i would like to thank all of the people on the front line for working tirelessly everyday during 2020 to save the nation the only way they know how, retail workers; careers; everyone to do with NHS and many more put themselves at risk every day. They've done it for better days to come.... make sure we had food on the shelves and that we can to see our loved ones.

The Days of hosting events are not over, far from it, they are just put on hold for the time being. Covid will eventually be a thing of the past and we can get on with life as we did. We will always be here to host an event of your choice but for now, everyone stay safe and look after eachother, we will get through this together....

Such an amazing thing to of done and organised by some of the most thoughtful people! It was a pleasure to be apart of!

Just being able to make a difference to at least someone’s life, no matter how big or small it is!

If there’s anyone in your community that you see struggling or you know will be struggling, offering some help goes along way and that is exactly what has been done!

Proud to of been apart and helped out

As if our Provincial Education Officer W Bro David Purslow didn’t have enough to do trying to lead the education of occasionally unruly schoolchildren and of the (naturally far from unruly) Brethren of Shropshire.

At the start of this year David helped to set up The Severn Community Charitable Trust to support children’s education in the county. Involvement with the Shrewsbury Food Hub as a result of the coronavirus crisis led to David and his wife Joanna establishing a weekly Food Share at the Martin Wilson School, where David is Head, each Sunday. Seeing the strain caused by the pandemic to many families already struggling financially and emotionally David, Joanna and the charity set about the business of bringing a bit of happiness into the lives of families identified by the 22 schools in the Shrewsbury area, where this first year’s efforts are being focused, as those whose Christmas might be brighter with a little help.

As a result some 250 individual boxes have been made up, each individually gift-wrapped and each containing four wrapped presents and a selection of treats. David and Joanna begged and sourced all the boxes, toys, books and sweets, aided by donations of £1350 from Lodges, £1850 from the MCF through the SMCA and £250 from Telford Transport Solutions. Two weeks of hard work and organisation came to a head with a happy band of Masonic helpers (Elves, David insists on calling them!) socially distanced in the dining room at Crewe Street (happy most of the time as long as they were supplied with hot drinks and chocolate biscuits) covering boxes, wrapping and parcelling up the presents and now, over 1000 individual presents later, the 250 parcels are finally ready. Between now and Christmas Eve, they will be delivered by yet more elves and, as David says, will help to make Christmas in this most challenging of years a little bit better for 250 children.

Whilst modestly keeping quiet about the extraordinary effort he and Joanna have put I to this project, David is keen to thank all Lodges, organisations and individuals concerned for all their generous help.

In Flanders Field.. one of the most famous poems.

Today is a day that we remember, we remember all of those who gave there lives for there country, loved ones to family but hero’s to us all. We support those who lost there family members! Respect is given to every single one of them.

‘When you go home, tell them of us and say for your tomorrow we gave our today’

We at the Freemasons hall would normally of had a remembrance service and tea coffee/drinks etc after with family’s of those who’s lost people in battle As well as all the war veterans who have lost there best friends in battle, this year is a bit different due to circumstances but I know I can speak for everyone at the Freemasons hall, we would like to raise a glass and toast too all those been lost and to the families that have lost just like we would in person.

THROWBACK......

Just before lockdown and all of this effected everything, we had the privilege to host a couples PEARL 30th Wedding anniversary.

A joyous occasion for a magical couple and family to enjoy! It’s fair to say we had an amazing time hosting such a significant event for 2 people’s lives.

To top the night off we had excellent food supplied by Catering at Crewe St in a buffet format, perfect for a memorable night!

And also music from SDC Discos that just finished the night off with a bang, favourites galore!!!

We are still taking bookings for the end of this year (just as a formality) however can be rescheduled to a later date and taking bookings for next year too.

We would like to thank every that has thought of us like this magical couple to make there events memorable and we hope that more people will allow us the chance to do the same for them

Setup simple... but effective
