I was recently lucky enough to be involved in a great project with an old friend, Kate Hudnott. She's been making her own spirit-based drinks for sometime, and wanted to refresh the branding she had been using, and make it a little more user friendly for her to add details at home as often the mixes changed. After meeting up to discuss where she'd like the brand to go, we both liked the theme of a 'medicinal'-style label, with a vintage letterpress look to convey the handmade feel. We included blank areas where she could print the ABVs and batch number with a stamp, to become part of the design. So far the new look has been very well received and Hudnott's is growing in popularity at food and drink fairs across the country and online, with new size bottles being added. A friend and accountant recently asked me to give him a new logo and stationery for his new solo venture, to make sure he had a professional looking business from the outset. I wanted to keep it simple, and landed on the idea of the coin stack – as "If you look after the pennies, the pounds look after themselves"...
