To our community, with a very heavy heart… ❤️🩹

​We’ve sat on this for the past week because it genuinely broke our hearts, and we weren’t sure how to say it.

​We love every single one of you who walks through our doors for a pint. You keep the lights on and our team going, and we will never take that for granted. But to us, a local pub isn't just four walls and a bar—it’s the beating heart of a community.

​True support means standing with us when we try to give back. We keep our events completely free so everyone can join in, whether we're raising money for charity or bringing Wingfield and Rockingham together.

​That’s why this hurts so much.

​Seeing people demand “their” seats like their names are carved into them—while sitting there whispering, gossiping, and slating the very team pouring their hearts out for you—cuts deep. Nobody owns a chair here, but everyone is supposed to share the warmth.

​The same goes for New Year’s Eve. We advertised clearly that people could register interest for tables, but we won't be taking any money until after Halloween. Just being a regular doesn’t mean a guaranteed seat is automatically waiting for you—everyone deserves a fair chance to celebrate.

​Last week broke us even more. We held a cake sale to raise funds for our community Christmas light switch-on. Near the end of the evening, someone asked for a slice. We knocked it down to just £1 so nothing went to waste, and they flatly refused to pay it.

​We know times are hard for everyone right now—we truly do. But it was £1, and it was meant to bring Christmas sparkle to our local children and neighbours across Wingfield and Rockingham.

​Is that really what supporting your local pub looks like?

​We pour our lives, our energy, and our souls into this place so everyone has somewhere safe, warm, and joyful to go. We just ask that you meet us halfway with a little kindness, community spirit, and respect.
