A small space for big ideas, bold performance and late-night sh*ts and giggles.

On Thursday 29 October we’re getting out the big guns for a big fat cabaret show at CANTERBURY FESTIVAL. Charlie Partridge hosts, with turns from Pat Riarchy, Violet Malice, Danny Ash, Holly Amber and our very own Screaming Marys. At the Malthouse Theatre, darlinks.
We’d love to look out and see your little beaming faces. Bring someone who needs a bit of Screaming Alley in their life. Let’s pack the place.

ALLEY BAR FRIDAYS are back this week with Major Gen taking over the basement for a COMPLETELY NORMAL COMEDY SHOW.

Definitely NOT a front for a revolution, peasants’ revolt or any other kind of working-class mischief. 👀

Expect a sideways look at life in the death throes of capitalism and the patriarchy, told through a couple of suitably oddball characters.

📅 Friday 25th September
⏰ Doors at 7.30pm
📍 The Alley Bar, below Salt House Barbers, 12 Queen Street, Ramsgate

THE ALLEY BAR IS BACK!

And look who we're reopening with…

LUNATRAKTORS: TIMEWEAVERS

FRI 11th SEPTEMBER

10PM DOORS / 10.30PM SHOW

Our old muckers the Lunatraktors have been performing with Screaming Alley since the very beginning of our time, so it feels only right that they're the ones we squish into the cellar for our first night back.

Timeweavers is their new theatre work, currently in development for touring. For Festival of Sound Late, we're getting a special grown-up version: intimate, experimental, squidgey, sweaty and after dark. What else would a night down the Alley Bar be?!

A folktronica voyage deep into the Mists of Time, guided by two tap-dancing experimental chronologists. Dusty grooves! Ancient tales! The audience's collective energy powering the ChronoCraft and propelling us all out of linear spacetime!

AND. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE.

After SING THE BODY ELECTRIC WITH HEDGE BAES, KODAMA & ANATOM at St George's Church on Friday night, head down to Timeweavers at the Alley Bar.

Go large at a church first.

Go larger at Ramsgate's most intimate venue second.

YOLO.

THE STORY SO FAR: We love putting on established performers - we also love helping making new performance happen. Over the past 9 months we've welcomed complete beginners, seasoned artists and everyone in between to discover new skills, build confidence and create unforgettable characters.

Most of the Drag Kings in these photos took their very first steps downstairs in the Alley Bar. All under the expert tutorage of Trudi Jackson aka Pat Riarchy

We're taking a short summer break from the Alley Bar, but Screaming Alley isn't going anywhere...
