There has been an instance today, whereby a car has parked blocking more than 1 car, one of which belongs to a staff member who finished their shift at 12:30. As of yet, they are still unable to move their car.

Thanks so much to all involved at Fulwood's The Lonsdale Sports and Social Club for raising a fantastic £1,407 for us! ❤🙌

🪩 Retiring president of The Lonsdale’s crown green bowling section, Neil Philipson, organised a ticketed, dress-to-impress charity ball, which had guests sit down to a three-course meal followed by video horse racing and a disco.

Neil, who since 2019 has organised an annual August Bank Holiday bowling tournament in memory of his late father-in-law Harry that also supports us, and has to date raised a wonderful £2,415, said: “It was a great evening, the finale to my year as bowling club president, which marked the 25th anniversary of Harry, who was treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre but who we lost in 2018, holding the same office.

“Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the ball a success, especially my wife Lisa, our sons Jordan and Josh and their respective partners Kieran and Emilie, DJ Slug, Darren Close and Laura Saunders.”

Neil added: “I am very grateful to The Lonsdale Club itself for topping up the funds we raised through the ball with a £680 donation, which had been raised through an Easter egg hunt, raffles and bingo nights held over the course of the last year. The extra funds came as a lovely surprise.”

Thank you so much to Neil for thinking of us, and to everyone who helped raise these funds too - we hugely appreciate your kindness, in support of local cancer care 🙏

We are a busy and welcoming Sports & Social Club based in Fulwood, and we’re looking for experienced bar staff to join our friendly team.

This is a varied role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a lively environment and can adapt to different types of service—from daytime functions to busy weekend evenings.

What we’re looking for:

Previous bar experience is essential
Confident serving customers in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, reliable, and well-presented
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible availability

Hours:

Weekday daytime shifts (particularly for wakes and functions)
Weekend evening shifts

Duties include:

Serving drinks and handling cash/card payments
Maintaining a clean and organised bar area
Providing excellent customer service
Supporting events and private functions

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Stephen Bayliss event yesterday! 🎉

What an incredible turnout and such a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish. It was great to see so many familiar faces and new ones too, all coming together to make it such a memorable night.

You certainly didn’t disappoint — the party carried on well into the night, and the energy never dropped! 🕺💃
