Just to confirm that Poynton Summerfest will not be held this year due to shortage of volunteers to organise and run the event on the day ☀️😟🎪

Volunteer Organisers Wanted……😊👍😊

Up to 2019 a group of volunteers successfully ran the Poynton Summerfest. This is a community event held annually in July on Mount Vernon playing field and the picturesque Middlewood Way platform at Higher Poynton.
The event features local bands, children’s entertainment, pony rides, dog show, climbing wall and funfair together with local produce and handcrafted stalls.
It also had an extremely popular licensed bar and a variety of food stalls.
However, since the interruption caused by Covid we have not been able to re-introduce the Summerfest as we no longer have enough volunteers to organise and run the event on the day.
If anyone would like to give something back to the local Poynton community and take on the role of organising this lovely local event, please contact us via Facebook, Messenger or email [email protected].

⚠️ Important update regarding this year's Poynton Summerfest ⚠️

Unfortunately the decision has been made to cancel this year's event and reschedule to July 2022.

Although this is not the decision we all hoped for, we trust this is the right decision to be made at this time to keep everyone safe due to the uncertainty around the Covid 19 pandemic.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you all next year! :) 🤞

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!

"After careful consideration the Friends of Poynton Summerfest have reluctantly decided to postpone this year's event, originally scheduled for Sunday 12th July.

There remains a great deal of uncertainty about the duration of the Covid-19 epidemic in the UK, and about any medium term constraints on staging large-scale events of this kind.

In the circumstances the Friends took the difficult decision to cease all current planning for the Fest, and will now look to find a suitable date next July for it to be reinstated.

They wish to apologise to all those affected, and in particular to the many residents and visitors who look forward to this popular community event, and who have attended in such large numbers since its inception."

Wow nearly 2 weeks has flown by since Summerfest!! From all the feedback we received it seems the day was a great success :)
